Hi guys...

Basically, lost 6 Stone (39KG) in a year, from 20 Stone (128KG), went to a 34 Waist from a 42, Large sized clothes from a XXL. Thing is, its left me with a stomach that looks like a Vagina, I applied for a Tummy Tuck, thats the only way to get rid of it completely , on the NHS (free healthcare service here) but it doesn't look good, so I may as well tone up some of it that can be toned.

This forum is 2nd top link on Google so hopefully it should be a decent forum full of decent people :)

Hello Everyone.  I am 25 years old, married with 1 14 mo. old boy and 1 more on the way.  I'm origionally from San Diego but being in the Air Force I've been stationed in Virginia and now Nevada.  I started lifting when I was 18 to get ready for Basic training.  Started getting more into it when I hit 21 and have been in love with it ever since.  I came into the military weighing 150's and am now 205 with 20% body fat.  My goal is to maintain/increase my size, increase my strength and cut the fat out.  I joined this site for some input and hopefully to give advice to beginners.  I take Elite Whey, BCAA pills, Purple Wrath (workout/post workout drink), a multi-vitamin and ZMA.  I hope to one day compete in a strongman competition or powerlifting competition.

Hey guys, my name is Mike. I've just started working out again since starting my career and now I have some time. I am 22 years old and right now I'm looking to drop off some of the body fat I put on in college and build muscle. Right now I'm 5'10, 170lbs don't know how much body fat now. I'm looking for a good workout routine and trying to get back into good shape.

Re:Introduce Yourself - Saturday, July 25, 2009 7:09 PM ( #1116 )
Quick background
I am 27 years old and have been very active my entire life. I have been working out sporadically for the last three years and have not progressed. I and 5'11 210 lbs, and not in any shape. It is very difficult for me to "hold onto muscle." Maybe my genetics don't allow for me to have a hard body, but its frustrating when put forth the efforts I do in the gym.
I am reaching out on DB in hopes keep from the "spinning tires" cycle I am in.
I have try and educate myself on as much information as possible regarding building my body, however I have difficulty in mastering the delicate balance between building muscle and diet and feel this is my major fault.
My goals are to learn the skills necessary to create "beach fit," body. I need to boost my confidence, enjoy my life.

RE: Introduce Yourself - Friday, August 07, 2009 4:20 AM ( #1118 )
Hi guys my name is Amz, I'm a 20 year old male student from the UK, currently studying at university. Got into bodybuilding just this exam period gone - a friend of mine said it helps relieve stress, so I tried it, and I must say that it does really help. So far this summer I've been going to the gym around 3x a week minimum, just trying to get some kind of consistency going, and I'm seeing quite a lot of difference in the body. My initial target was weight loss because I was a few pounds overweight, but I managed to flatten my stomach and now my abs are beginning to show after just a few short months. Looking forward to meeting people on here and getting to know them, as well as learning more about this exciting way of life.

Thanks.

Well my name is Mike and I am 36 years old, married to a beautiful wife (4' 11" & 85lbs.).  We have 7 kids and I have let myself get way out of shape.  I am about 5"7" & 185lbs.  I have always wanted to have more of a hard body, but I don't have enough self discipline.  I am hoping I can find someone to help keep me on track as well as some good ideas on workouts and how to loose weight fast and gain muscle.  I have always worked out inconsistently and until last summer I was jogging 30 to 40 miles per week.  I got a stress fracture in one of my legs and I can't seem to get it to heal, so I can take up jogging again.  I will appreciate all the help I can get.  Thanks.

Re:Introduce Yourself - Wednesday, September 09, 2009 2:19 AM ( #1124 )
Hi, my name's Paul and I'm 36. I started to workout in January 2004 when I'd the opportunity to join, at a reduced price, a gym for three months for the pre-season training of the inline hockey season. After three months I renewed the subscription to the gym, but I could only attend it in the evening after work and in the weekends. The motivation wasn't always very high to go to gym after work and results weren't very encouraging. In June 2006 I moved to a new office near the gym and I could go to it at noon. That was a great change! I began to have regularly 3-4 session a week and results was great: I was able to put on 10 kg of mass in a year and to transform my body. This change helped me a lot to improve in my main sport (inline hockey) too.

I've some hobby like my computer and astronomy but overall sport: I play hockey (inline- and ice-) and golf and I love swimming, skiing, snowboarding, cycling and running.
Workout is no more an hobby but it has become a part of my life: I really don't need to stay motivated, lifting is just one of those things I love to do and when I cross the entrance of the gym I put my I-Pod in the ears and the rest of the world don't exist. There's only my body, the music and the weights: life and work troubles disappear!.

Now I'm preparing the ice hockey season, which it'll begin end October. Last year I had a shoulder injury that troubled me for months. This year I wish to be ready! In the next month I'm going to focus on putting on mass.
From the end of August I began to track my workouts on internet (other forums too) so I report them on DB.com too and I'll update regularly.

Re:Introduce Yourself - Wednesday, September 09, 2009 6:56 AM ( #1125 )
Hi,

I'm 38 years old.  Am not totally new to body building but have never really gotten past the novice stage.  I've always struggled with my weight but when I was in my late 20's I got in quite good shape but am not in that kind of condition anymore.

I've always had problem with my feet and over the last few years that has caused problems with my lower back.  I've started working out again 5 weeks ago.  My main focus is building muscle, as I believe the all other goals (like fat loss) will fall into place as you build the muscle, and that building muscle around my body’s weak spots is very important for me right now.

I know the basics.  I eat quite well, 5 to 6 meals per day.  I have eliminated refined sugar completely from my diet as well as aspartame.  I work out 6 time per week alternating between a 20 minute cardio on my exercise bike and weight training.

I did workout a lot in my late 20’s but made the mistake of focusing too much on fat loss and not enough on building my strength.  I was always trying to lose weight in the process did not gain nearly as much muscle as I should have.  This time I am not worrying about the scale.  I want to build muscle.

Hey everyone,

The name's Rob, i'm 17 and currently a senior. Like most of you, i enjoy working out =] Im currently training 6 days a week and have been doing so for about 18 months. I'm not the strongest guy, but its something i enjoy and the progression makes it all worth it. Hmm... I just recently got my acceptance letter to WMU (Western Michigan University) for their College of Aviation. Have always wanted to be a pilot =]. It's good to be on DBB, i've been reading posts for a few months and decided i might be able to help someone down the road and hopefully learn even more about this great sport.

I've been working out for 13 years and love it. It's been one of the best things I've done all my life. I've come to offer any advice and see different strategies that others are using.

What I love about lifting is finding what works for your and your body type and then pushing it to the enth degree to see results. Always fun and always a growth process. :)

Re: RE: Introduce Yourself - Friday, November 13, 2009 12:58 PM ( #1136 )
Howdy all, I'm new to the Forum.  And well I served in the marines for 3 years, after that worked on a farm for a season, then a tree company.  Lifting and doing cardio when time was available but not religiously.  This past year I broke my hand.. Still in recovery mode but am very determined and pumped to reach my goals.  I still have atleast another full month before i can do "heavy lifting" as the doctor said.  I have just quit smoking cigarettes as well and my diet for the past year has been manly fast food yah gross I know.

I've never been big into lifting but I guess i am just looking for a workout that will give me some gains before next work season, so I have the winter months to pick the ball back up and run! I've tried some routines found on the web hear and there, stuck them out for a couple months only to be shut down from over training losing the determination to carry on.

With all that said, I am looking for a workout I can build on over these winter months and even mold it around my work schedule come next year.  Keep in mind I have been immobile for almost 2 months now, doing cardio runs after I quit smoking. running 1.3 miles and 2.6 miles at a time. the 2.6 being my interval sprints (light poles) I would really like to get back to a sub 18 minute 3 mile run and cut down on what fat I can still stand to lose healthily that is.  I don't use any supplements and don't care to in all honesty.

If anyone would be obliged to lend a helping hand and some insight would be incredible help!

When able to [when bones have healed] I have enough time to dedicate anywheres from a half hour to 2 hours of training a day, if that is what is called for. I'll say I'm in the middle of beginner/intermediate when it comes to knowledge and all that.

Thank you again.

Goals
-Maybe bulk up a bit
-tone muscle
-cut body fat
-increase over all health
-build a better balanced diet**

Look up a routine called starting strength, it's a great program that will take up maybe 1 hour a day 3 days a week (people normaly do it monday wednesday friday) great routine for beginner/intermediate lifters (not just for beginners as the title would suggest, all but the really advanced guys could benefit from programs like this). Add as much cardio as you want in with it. And you sound pretty dedicated btw, hope you heal up soon.
Goals by end of 2009:
Bench 205
Squat 255 ATG
Squat Clean 185
