Re: RE: Introduce Yourself - Friday, May 08, 2009 1:36 PM ( #1081 )
Hi,
I'm from the Dom Rep, a new member here, Female, 26 yrs, 5'4" and 140 lbs, pear shaped.
Looking forward to loose some pounds and keep them off!

All my life I've always done a fair amount of sports (capoeira, tennis, soft tennis, ping pong), belly dancing, i like to run and always been at the gym, basically i like to exercise...although i've always had a good body shape i don't seem to obtain the physique i'm aiming for (rock butt and hard abdomen)! After i turned 20 i've been going back and forth from 125lbs which was my average weight to 140lbs...once (3 years back) i even went up to 155lbs for a 5 month period!

I'm currently lacking discipline in my workout, since i like to do it but i don't follow a strict routine, and well....diet has always been my weakness since i like to eat... a lot!

I've been drinking a nutritional shake from Universal "Tone and Tighten" which helped me get to and stay at 128lbs from may 2008 to november 2008, but i had to turn in my masters thesis this december and i did a mess from nov 2008 until a month back...so now i'm back to 140 lbs.

A friend suggested this forum and told me it helped him a lot! So i expect to get the inspiration i need here and read some articles/tips and achieve my target.

Gigi

Hey

My name is Jon and I've been lifting for about a year and a half.  About a month or two ago I started altering my weights and cardio days.  Hope to find out some good tips and routines to build muscle and lose weight.

Hey Chris

My name is Jon.  I've been lifting for a year and half and the best I can tell you is stick with it.  It takes time and hard work to build and get that bench up for some people.  Just use it to get better, be patient, and work had man.

I'm D-Fisch and I'm getting back into intense sport training. I used to train hard for football and was a county all-star reciever. I am now training to hopefully make a big splash for the University of South Florida hockey team in the fall.

Hi my name's Junior, from Sydney Australia.
22 years old. 5'8, 110kg(lb?) into contact sport. Play rugby league and rugby union, love strength training and just any training in general as long as its intense.
Goals are to increase strength, size, power. Recently started the Max-OT training and enjoying it, taxing, but good.

110 kg = 225 lbs.

I'm glad you like Max-OT, although IMO, starting strength would have been a legitimate routine to try.

kg x 2.2 = lb.

Re:Introduce Yourself - Thursday, May 28, 2009 1:08 PM ( #1091 )
Hey Everyone....

Well first things first.  I am 25 years old and I am enilisted in the Air Force.  Im not a big guy by any means but one day I would like to be able to say that I am.  I am 5'10" and 185lbs with roughly about 12% body fat.  As a kid growing up I was always the skinny/slender type and I have a real hard time putting on weight.  I seem to burn fat/calories more often than I can consume them, and what is the kicker is that I love to eat.  I eat about 5-6 times a day not including protein shakes.  I have been lifting weights on and off for about 4 years, but this last year I have been really dedicated not missing the gym unless Im on my death bed.  My goal is to gain as much weight as I can and increase my strength along the way.  I joined this forum so I can get as much help as I can on better routines and eating habits so I can reach my goals faster.  So pretty much help me any way you guys can.  I appreciate all your future comments and suggestions.  later.

Re:Introduce Yourself - Saturday, June 06, 2009 5:12 AM ( #1095 )
Hey. I'm 46 and started working out Jan. 15th. We have a workout room at work with treadmills, elipticals, dumbells, and a universal set.I'm usually the only one using the gym in the afternoon.
I started working out to lower my blood pressure and to lower my cholesteral. In three months of using the eliptical and lifting, a modified pyramid(?), I've been able to get off of my BP. med. and have lowered my cholesteral to an acceptible level !!
I lost about five lbs.but have put it, and some more, back on in muscle. I'm probably in better shape now than I was at thirty.I'm looking forward to reading, and learning more about body building as I continue to bulk up now and get in even better shape.

Re: RE: Introduce Yourself - Saturday, June 13, 2009 1:00 PM ( #1096 )
Hi, everyone! I'm Karen, and I'm interested in body building/fitness because I haven't been very successful at achieving my goals. I want to have less body fat percentage and more lean muscle.

I was in a bad car crash a year and a half ago-- a drunk driver ran over me and dragged my body for ~60 ft! I'm still in physical therapy, and I can tell that my body is still a lot weaker than it's ever been. My muscles shake when I do the simplest exercises!

Due to my injuries, I am unsure about my potential.  However, I know that with God anything is possible, and I don't think being in shape is too much to ask. I hope to learn a lot, get stronger, and be transformed! God bless!

Hey everyone...just joined the site.  I'm 23 and will be competing in my first show next month, as a Figure competitor. My bf has a show under his belt already....so now he's got me hooked. I'm 5'7" and will be at 115lbs for competition day.

Looking to get some good feedback and advice from you guys here too. Plan for the next 4 weeks: get LEAN (and still try to get some size on me...).

Re: RE: Introduce Yourself - Wednesday, June 17, 2009 5:58 AM ( #1099 )
hi all, my name is Al from Sydney Australia. i'm 24, 5'10 tall and weigh about 65kgs. Guess i fit the stereotypical lanky guy who never gets fat (yes - since birth).

i've been training on and off for the past 2 years with no significant gains made. im guessing that is primarily because i stop after 6-8 weeks usually (and a few months off after that) due to sickness/non committment.

i've been introduced to Max OT since i started and i like the philosophy. Mum did tell me when i first started that she could see physical gains so it must be working.

right now im changing my routine to goto the gym before work and i think its doing me alot better since my mind is not mentally drained from an exhausting day at work.

hope to get your advice on how to train properly for some results!

oh, and my goal is just to pack a little bit more muscles (all round) rather than being boney and getting teased about having 'scrawny arms' by my female friends :P

cheers

I'm a Filmmaker who just finished a documentary about the sport - Saturday, June 20, 2009 4:15 PM ( #1100 )
Hello I'm Stuart MacDonald, a filmmaker. I just finished a unique documentary about a guy who wants to look like the guy in fitness ads. The guy is me and we had cameras following me for 2 years showing how I did it. What's facinating about this story is who the supplement industry gives no credit for hard work. To lay people this sport looks like all you need to do is take a pill, drink protien shakes and lift weights. I learned so much about this sport and have gained a huge respect for it just. You see I had to become a bodybuilder just to look like the guy in the ad and I'll tell you what it's nothing but hard work and personal sacrifice. More than you know, if you haven't been in this sport or are thinking about it.

I never knew just how isolated you can be when you are dieting down to get tissue thin skin. I shrank down to under 6% bodyfat over a 6 month period and it was hell for the last 6 to 8 weeks. It's amazing how you look when you get super lean but it's also uncomfortable. People don't realize too that you can't look like that all year long too another myth we busted in the film. If you would like to see some clips go to our website at.

Well i'm 18 years old going to Penn State. I've been lifting throughout high school.   I bulked up for football to around 225 lbs with around 15% bf and kept it till around feb. Since then i've cut down with keto to around 190 with about 10% bf.  I strongly enjoy lifting as a full time hobby for personal self satisfaction.

I max around:
Squat - 355
Deadlift - 405
Bench - 275

I joined the forum for tips and advice to help advance my lifting and personal gains

Hey, I'm 6' tall and around 145lbs. Not sure about my body fat. I've got some muscle from body weight exercises but nowhere near as much as I want to have. I'm going to get into weights and hope to learn what I need to do to build muscle.
