Hello Everyone! Im 21 years old and I've been struggling about weight problems ever since. Due to my job's nature, I tend to eat a lot eventhough I want to control myself, I find it really hard not to resist temptation and I have no time to work out. I hope I could get helpful information here.

Hey all

New to this forum so thought i'd intro myself on this thing

21 y/o full time college student/barista/actor. haha. i have a lot goin on in my life for sure. I've been consistently working out now for about 7 months and have definitely seen a difference in my body. currently here are my stats

5"3'
124 lbs.
5% body fat

Im lookin to gain about 10-15 lbs of lean muscle mass. I recently started a new workout program which is in a book i bought from the Men's Health series and i definitely love it. I'll be starting a BSN stack soon so hopefully my gains will be here in no time. :)

My name is Joshua Caserta

16 years old at 6 feet tall and around 200-210 lbs.  Trying to gain more lean mass and lose more fat.

It's hard to cut out all the unnecessary fat because I have to rely on my mom for food and she's reluctant to buy good foods and hates fish, so I have to make due with what I have.

I look like this:

A more shirted picture of me would look like so:

Hello all my name is Phil.

I'm 29 years old.
6 ft tall
135 pounds

According to http://www.bmi-calculator.net/body-fat-calculator/ I'm sitting somewhere around 7.5% body fat.

I've been exactly the same size for about 15 years now, and I've finally come to the conclusion it isn't going to magically appear one day as most of my family has told me since I was in high school. I've come to dbb in hopes of finding a diet and routine that I can relatively easily accommodate into my current lifestyle.

Re:Introduce Yourself - Friday, December 26, 2008 10:17 PM ( #1035 )

Hello I am Stridus. I am 20 years old and a college student from Texas, I will get my associates in Criminal Justice after spring 09 and I came here to gain knowledge about gaining some muscle and size. Ive been working out for the past 7 out of 9 months trying to get my body in shape (although I had to take a two month hiatus to focus on my college classes). Im not overweight or anything and according to my digital weight scale I am 146.6 pounds, and using Crownedzero's link to body fat generator (http://www.bmi-calculator.net/body-fat-calculator/), Im sitting at 12.32% body fat and I can bench 120 1RM, my goal is to bench 300. This would be my new years resolution, hopefully I can do it in 12 months but eh, Dont rush myself I supose.

I found this site today looking at some workout routines and came across an old post by Marc David's review of the Critical Bench workout routine (http://www.discussbodybuilding.com/Critical-Bench-The-Review-m9998.aspx), and after reading his progress/suggestions I felt the Max-OT would be best for me. I downloaded the MAX-OT from another one of his posts (http://www.discussbodybuilding.com/MaxOt-Complete-Routine-m390.aspx) and I start monday on my 12 week program. Hopefully I will see the results I would like following the suggestions offered in the routine. Thats all I can think of uhh besides the fact I like basketball and am a Dallas Mavericks fan.

Re:Introduce Yourself - Saturday, December 27, 2008 2:08 PM ( #1036 )
My name is JD and I've been lifting on and off cause of boredom. In this picture you'll see I'm pretty hairy and don't really care lol. I'm 23, 6'3 245lbs and have a 10 inch scar down my stomach. I don't have feeling in the majority of my stomach anymore so I can't workout my abs. So it makes me hit everything else that much harder. I don't max out but usually do as much weight as I can for 4 sets of 12 and it seems to be doing some good.

Hope to learn some valuable information while here.

Hi everybody, I was an avid BB for about 20 yrs until a car wreck screwed up my cervical disks...now I try my best to stay in shape.  I recently had a few cortisone shots in the neck plus a trigger point shot in the right trap...Id like to know if anyone has had these? The trigger point shot (2.5 weeks ago) has done something bad to me, it feels as if I have torn my trap.  a week and a half after the shot I did some light pushups, 5 days later I feel as if a muscle is being pulled from the bone whenever I flex or use the right trap! Has anyone ever heard of this? I know this is just the intro post, but I couldnt figure out how to post  any other way on this site...please educate me on this and if anyone knows about ruptures after shots please get back to me here or at mkjarobinson@yahoo.com

Hey

My Name is James I'm 20 I'm 5'11 possibly 6'0 now as i seem to be growing again randomly, I'm 126lbs have just under 10% body fat.

I exceptionally new to all of this, i have had to take it upon myself to some thing about my body, its not terrible i used to be very athletic and had a reasonably toned body while i was in school, i was skinny but it looked acceptable so i was happy having my top off.

I find it very hard to gain weight, i haven't changed weight for well over 4 years now its very strange i don't always have the best diet though my dad is an excellent cook and my evening meal diet is VERY varied. Though no matter how much i eat i don't seem to gain weight and if i do its not a a lot and is lost very easily.

I think this is the best excuse to get into shape, i don't want to look back and wish i had. I don't have much in the way of equipment just a sit up bench and some weights.

Size wise I'm one of the smallest out of my mates most of them are well over 6 foot one being 6"6. Even the ones slightly shorter are a bigger build than me.

So I'm just looking for hints and tips so that i can find a routine that is best suited to me. Also any one willing to help with advice etc.

Regards

James

Hey whats goin on everyone, My name is Stephen, im 17 turning 18 in 2 weeks and im ingaged with a baby girl on the way. Im pretty stoked and excited. I love tattoo's, I got two and im definitly getting more after i get a nice toned body, i also love punk music, like black flag, rancid, minor threat ext, but all my life ive always been that skinney ass kid, i tried everything to gain weight! nothing. I did brazilian jui jit-su for a while with a buddy and still no results i didnt feel stronger just tired all the time. I worked out for about 6 months and got no results. Im 6ft, i weight 140 pounds, i eat like a bird, but i can lift a caddy np. I want to open up my appetite more, gain weight, and get a badass cut, toned body. Not to impress anyone, but just to feel more confident with myself and feeling healthy and stronger than Ronnie coleman lol (he's one of many idol's i look up too for that motivation). Well, I really hope I can get the help i need to get my health back on track and looking good.
Thanks alot everyone, Your Friend Stephen

Re: RE: Introduce Yourself - Saturday, February 07, 2009 1:52 AM ( #1049 )
Hello everyone my name is Con I'm from Perth, Western Australia.  I'm 40 have gotten back into training in the last 6 months.  I'm 5ft 10 I weigh 282 pounds, my max single rep bench is 130kg (286 pounds) leg press for 6 reps on 450kgs (990 p) and cheat curls for 5 reps at 60kg (132 pounds).

I train each muscle group once a week in a 5 day split (chest, back, legs, shoulders,bi&tri's).  My weight workouts are short (30 minutes), I generally do about 8 sets per muscle group.  I finish each workout with 30 mins of cardio after.

Current supplements are Whey Protein IsolateL-Glutamine,Creatine-Ester, Beta Alanine,Vandrobol, Nitric Oxide,  plus a Multivitamin, Vitamin B complex, fish oil, glucosamine sulphate (**** knees).  I will have carbs for breakie but dont touch em after that, protein and vegetables only.  Alcohol is my enemy, on some weeks I win on others?  Well lets just say I do a fair bit of carbo-loading on the weekend :-)

My trainer reckons at my max muscle level (natural that is) I will probably be able to carry 110ks (242 pounds) and be fit.  Interestingly enough working out overweight has meant my actual weight over the last 6 months hasnt changed just my belt size as I lose fat and gain muscle.

Training has given me a lot of my old strength back and has improved the way I look but I have a long way to go, undoing 10 years of inactivity is very hard, and of course it seems to take ages.

Cheers

Con
