Hello folks A few months later (a year in total now!) and still no results! 6 carb, protein and calorie rich meals a day, every second day have a good workout full of compound excersises. Nada. I'm not going to give up, i want to ask, what if go 5 days in a row, take 2 days off? And say do day 1 chest, day 2 arms, day 3 legs etc. I really blast the specific muscle group so that it needs a week to recover...which in the nature of the workout it will? What do you say?? Many thanks... Julian

Hi Julian. Why not outline the meal plan that you've been following for evaluation? How, specifically, is your exercise program structured? If you could list the exercises that you do (complete with sets/reps detail), it would ensure more useful responses from the rest of us.

Cursor let me begin by congratluating you - I checked out your progress pics, and they are astounding! You should be very proud. I hope I can look like that in my 50's! It's also time I am as honest as possbile here, in terms of realism. I hate being skinny and if I want to do something about it, I'm going to have to be honest. Here is a typical meal plan: Morning ( I eat brekkie at 5.30 am as I have a long way to school, and as a result can hardly eat a piece of bread - I'm not a morning person! Well, at least not before the sun gets up!) I usually manage: 1 piece of bread with ham/meat + cheese. Bowl of fruit. Glass of Milk, + some cheese. Take my multivitamins here as well. Break (First school break - 10.00am) Large sandwich of wholemeal + nut bread with meat + cheese. Piece of fruit (Watermelon, pineapple etc), half a litre of milk/milkshake. Lunch (Second school break: 12.45) Chef's Special (A piece of meat with 2 servings of different vegetables. Varies from day to day but is the largest single meal available). Ice cream. Snack (Home from school - 4pm) Protein Shake Dinner ( 7pm) Piece of meat with vegetables. My mum still cooks for me so here we have a nice big meals with lots of vegg + carbs + meat. Before bed snack (10pm) Protein shake. That's it. I went to see a chinese medicine doctor yesterday about increasing my appetite (I figured people have been using that side of medicine for thousands of years, and it's all natural, so I am willing to try it). She gave me a tonic to drink after my meals which I am convinced is molten plastic mixed with witches spit. I have never tasted anything as horrible, but I am willing to do it if it increases my appetite. We shall see. Could I get an opinion on the 5-day workout thing? Thanks Thank you for your time.

A 5-day per week workout schedule may work for you ... but then again, it may not. It's difficult to know without some understanding of how you workout. How intense are your workouts? As noted above, it would be worthwhile to see your exercise regimen detailed out. What kind of results are you hoping to achieve? More lean mass?

Sorry i forgot that Here it is: 1- push bench press military press dips pushups day 2: pull deadlifts bent over barbell rows pull ups barbell curls days 3: legs stiff leg dead lifts barbell squats calf dips lunges I do 3x8 for each, at maximum weight, so very high intensity, with decent rest nbetween. (I have also tried doing less res and increasing the weights along the sets, and every combination inbetween!) How is my eating looking?

If you don't mind could you share your height/weight, or what amount of calories is maintenence for you? This would allow us to better advise you on your diet. Regarding 5 day routines-- I'm currently using Max-OT and am really enjoying it, its M-F, Sat-Sun off.

I'm hoping to gain lots of mass mainly, but some definition as well. I am terribly skinny. And strength... How do I work out my calorie mainetnace? I have an incredibly fast metabolism so I think I need more than usual. I am 6'0 and 137 pounds :(

builtdarntough150, I remembered a few months ago you were arguing about rep ranges, but then now you are saying 8 reps is too much. Personally I don't think 8 reps is too much, I'm currently on 3x8, and will be changing it to 4x6 soon.

builtdarntough, you can see my typical eating as I have posted above. I will leave out the things you said in the workout critique.
