I'm new here, but been reading for and need some advice... Heres my story, im 22 6ft 225lbs...decent build, but have gotten a nice gut. I was 185 and cut like crazy in Highschool looking at college basketball, but 2 knee repairs later college life has left me needed to rebuild myself. I've been hitting the gym Mon,Weds, and Friday go heavey weights. I've been eating 6 meals a day and have filled my chest and gotten some biceps back. I'm around a 37 waist and want to get back down to a 34 but still get into shape. I've read that its near impossible to bulk up and lose weight at the same time, so I'm not sure what exactly to do. I'm I better not lifting and trying to loose some weight with alot of cardio, or do weights and cardio on odd days or just lift weights and do alot of core training? Any help thoughts or ideas would be great, cause I don't want to waist my work outs and I don't want to burn out either.

To lose fat, don't change your lifting routine at all- Just check out the nutrition forum for some good cutting diets, and add cardio- Fat is lost through nutrition and cardio, plain and simple. The best way, in my opinion, to keep as much of the muscle you already have, is to continue to lift heavy so that your body thinks the muscle is necessary.
