i saw another post where someone mentioned the TNT diet here. i didnt even look at it, i just found the article interesting

OBESITY EPIDEMIC COSTS AMERICANS BILLIONS
Slimming down could be key to a better
future for all

User Posted Image
Want to stop climate change, never have a flight canceled, wipe diabetes off the map, and be more productive at work without even trying? Start exercising. And get everyone else to do the same. If no one in America were fat, we'd save $5 billion fueling our lighter cars and planes, spend $10 billion less on clothes, and be so productive at work that the nation would see a $257 billion boost. An enterprising writer did some calculating and found that an America without obesity would save $487 billion dollars each year—enough to hand every American $4,270 check. That's an economic stimulus we can get behind, and we already are: More than 13,000 guys have lost 41,000 pounds on our Belly Off! program, with bodyweight workouts that don't cost a penny. Countless other men have lost the gut on the Abs Diet and carved away fat on the TNT diet, or just burned off a burger or 10 with one of our downloadable workouts. Even when you're rolling through the drive-thru, you can save America cash: Use Eat This, Not That! to make choices that won't make your car quite as heavy—without trading burgers for bean sprouts. No matter how they're choosing to keep it off, Men's Health guys are helping the nation's ailing economy, their own bottom line, and their waistline. And that should help their pickup lines work better, too.

That is interesting nice find. It would be good to have a dream world and try the theory out and see if that worked.

Sounds like a typical Men's Health article.

Economy's down so they decided to play the "losing fat can help economy" angle to get more sales instead of their typical "get ripped abs in 4 weeks". lol

Yeah sure if less people were sick then we'd cut down on healthcare costs and increase work productivity. That's pretty much common sense.

lol i think about the following all the time.

For a bodybuilder, the reason that they might not want to cut/lose fat is because it will inhibit them from gaining new muscle or possibly even lose them muscle.

For an average person, the reason is...well....what reason...

They are just too lazy to do a goddam diet?? wtf kind of reason is that. They have everything to gain (or in this case lose) and nothing to lose.

Thats the bit i found interesting.. its obvious about less sickness less costs.. although i though in america everywhere was private so it makes no difference.. wouldnt that only apply to UK.

I recon there should be a fat tax, i don't see why when luggage is weighed and costs more the more there is.. why i should pay the same price as sombody who weighs twice the amount then me.

Most people don't consider 200 pounds fat, unless you're short.

Huh, well I'm usually trying to get heavier, so does that mean that I'm assisting in the rise of gas prices?

Damn, sorry guys.

the problem with government stepping in (on something like fat tax) is bad because then you would have the government saying what you should or should not weigh, the government doesn't know jack about being healthy.

just because someone weighs 200lbs doesn't mean they are not healthy, they already have these charts were if you weigh over certain weight your insuruance goes up.

so it's already being done (first step), it's all about money

your responsible for your own, there is plenty of education going around through the t.v. (the idiot box) radio about exerciseing and eating healthy.

btw I'm against the smoking ban, however I'm perfectly fine with someone getting a ticket for smoking in their car with kid inside.

things were fine with me eating in resturants with "smoking sections" I always picked "non-smoking" and never smell smoke, however now we must all walk through the "smoking section" just to get in the resturant, and smoking in bars? hah I drink and that pollutes my body, so why complain if someone smokes a cig.

then u must not read a lot. being thin isnt hard. if somone would rather be fat just so they can eat then they have some priority issues.

Uh, seriously? Because I eat less than 500 calories a day of food without added sugar or high carb content and work out four times a week, and I'm not thin. So is there some magic easy thing that I'm missing here? because I'd love to learn the magic skinny secret.
