Im 15, 5'6.5 140lb, trying to take away the fat that snuck on to me outta no where. I just started this diet of cutting down on a few carbs, and doing cardio. Well, I have a big problem now, I'm losing muscle mass. I lost five pounds of muscle in just 3 days. So I went from 149-144. Then an extra 4 pounds later. I know I lost muscle mass, cause I noticed my forearm muscles got a little skinnier, including the other parts of my arms.  Before I was at a decent weight during May, and a good physique May (125lb) but I wanted to gain more muscle, I managed to add mass, I reached 145 in the begining of september. Now Im getting fat and losing muscle mass, and I need to know how I can decrease my body fat and increase my muscle mass. Its really weird, cause I never had a problem with gaining fat, I could eat and gain, little fat. Dunno whats goin on, could be cause its becoming winter and all. Or because I haven't done track in so long.

I think you need a bf test because it sounds like fat is coming off, if you train with weights at least on a 3 day split you won't lose muscle, if you eat the right protein, eating every 2-3 hours and doing low pace cardio.

Don't panic, combining a low carb diet and increasing your cardio will have resulted in a loss of glycogen (stored carbs) and water.  This is thre most likely cause of your weight loss.  You may have dropped your calories too low however, which if maintained, may result in loss of muscle.  When carbs are too low the body will turn fats AND protein for fuel (both ingested and muscle protein).  Slow, patient fatloss is the key for maintaining muscle.
