IM TOO BIG! NEED HELP!!! LOOK - Tuesday, July 29, 2008 10:04 PM ( #1 )
Hello everyone,

I need help obviously...  I want to have a six pack...  My lower midsection looks bad.  I want to shape them all up.  My chest looks ok, but my nipples look like melted hersheys. lol...  I just started this new workout...

Age: 20
Height: 5"10" 71in
Weight: 210 pds
Body Fat: 18%
Diet: Morning After Workout -- 2 EGGS & 6 Strips of Turkey Bacon
       Before Afternoon -- 4 Strawberries, 1 Banana, 7 Blueberries,
                                  Orange, and 1 Sliced Pineapple all blended together.
       Afternoon -- Salad, Beans, and Sandwich
       Before Evening -- Another Blend
       Evening -- Grilled Chicken with Noodles... Sometimes I cheat with pizza...

Daily Activity:

Morning: 2 Mile Run
AB Lounge 100 reps
Evening: 8 MIN AB workout

ALTERNATE EVERYDAY

Morning:  2 Mile Run
30 Push Ups
P90X Chest & Back
Evening: 40 Perfect Pushups

New Supplements: Lypo 6X
I use a blue waist belt whenever I run or any other workouts.

Need recommendations for dieting and working out.

Yessir...you are putting in the work but your diet is likely off. How long have you been doing this routine. Have you lost any weight so far doing it?

i lost like 3lbs... then i gain it all back...  it goes up.... then it goes down...  I just started this new workout this week...

lets see your diet then.  that's where you're falling off i bet. 

there are a ton of people that can help you out ALOT. we just have to see your diet

i just saw your stats...

i'll have to disagree with 18 % bodyfat, i'd say it's higher. 

you need a more complete workout. where's a workout for your shoulders, arms, and legs???????????

I really do not have one for legs besides running.  I probably need to start a shoulder and arm workout.

Looks like too much running and not enough weight training. Contrary to what most people think, running/ cardio is not the end all be all fat burner. You are also doing far too much ab work, working them more won't burn the fat off them and it won't accelerate your progress.


If you want to see your abs you need to get the fat off them but fat won't just come off the spots you chose, it comes off everywhere at once regardless of which areas you workout. For most guys the body stores fat around the abdominal section first and removes it from that spot last. If you lower your bodyfat to around 10% or less it becomes almost guaranteed that properly developed abdominals will be made visible.


If you go to the training section of this forum somebody can most likely set you up with a good routine that will work all of your major muscle groups properly. You will most likely need to join a gym or drop some cash on a squat rack, bench press (and bar) and maybe some dumbbells for your house. I know this is probably not what you wanted to hear as it definitely complicates what you will have to do to get what you want but thats just the way the ball bounces.

btw if nobody in the training forum is able to set you up with a routine by the time I get home later I will help you out. Id do it now but I have to leave in a minute.


Things you should take away from this post
- Lowering your overall bodyfat is a pre-requisite for visible abs.
- Serious weight training is the best way to lower overall bodyfat
- Cardio is a nice plus but should not be overdone and should not a center piece, too much cardio releases stress hormones that can signal bodyfat storage.
- Your diet does need work too, and I will type more on that later, if somebody else has not stopped by and done it first.

not to sound like a dick but your bf looks higher than 18%..and you dont workout your legs so just clean up your diet and get a nice cut you probably have pretty nice muscles under the fat.

Replace the fruit with something else.  Eggwhites and whole wheat bread or something.

I'd recommend protein shakes or bars instead of the fruit smoothies and cut out the noodles or any pasta for that matter if you are serious about losing weight. Especially at night you want to limit your carbs. Maybe do some oatmeal and egg whites in the morning or 100% whole wheat bread like Yet suggested.

just keep exercising and you will cut soon

Yea I don't know about the Diet OP.
 
If you want to lose fat try adding abit of fibre in and/or green tea, lots of foods can help you lose fat.. just do the research.
