I want to start bodyweight upper body program-is this good?

I want to start bodyweight upper body program-is this good? - Sunday, March 04, 2007 7:10 AM ( #1 )
Hi,I am new here and I want to start upper body training because I do lower body already 2 months.I cant get the weights yet only some easy dumbells.What do you think of this bodyweight exercises?Can I gain muscles with them?
 
Pushups
Decline pushups
Chin ups(I can do at home)
Diamond pushup
Bicep curl
Tricep dips
Wrist curls
 
Are those exercises good for becoming stronger in upper body ?

Well let me start by saying welcome to the forum, It seem no one want to answer youre question do to youre comment, "I do lower body already 2 months" which to tell you the truth, I have no idea what that means...Do some reading in the begginers start here section of the forum to help you out.

Oh and to answer you question... Sorry bud If youre aiming for straight brute strenght you going to need some heavy weights, but the moves you listed should give you some decent results

I would add dumbbell squats, if the weight is light then use it as a warm up, also dumbbell deadlifts, maybe later doing them romanian style with one leg once the weights get lighter, I would also try to hit a playground 1-2 times per week and add some pullups, chins and hanging crunches.

If you don't have access to dumbbells yet and you want to do upper body then I suggest doing what italianangel said, but more detailed on push ups you can check this website out http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1608/is_11_18/ai_93009061 there are three levels, choose the one that suits you best.
 
Also, don't forget to do crunches sit ups and stuff like that, something really intense that way you'll get lots of shape.
