I need help!!!! - Wednesday, December 10, 2008 9:52 AM ( #1 )
Hey, i've been working out for about 3 months now, and in order to play football next year i have to gain about 20 pounds, yea thats should be easy with everthing out there but i cant and have the hardest time to gain weight! i can loss it really really easy, I have played and will play center, i have been playing center for about 5 years. But coach said i cant play if i dont gain 20 pounds. Is there anything you guys need to help me out just let me know, and i would like to know how to do this they quickest so i can get in pads by jan 15 or i have to wait intell i gain 20 pounds.

I'm not sure I believe you but whatever.

Just eat. If your goal is to gain 20 lbs I think MCDonalds makes a 1,000 calorie burger. A few of those a day should do it.

If you're trying to put on 20lbs in muscle by Jan 15. You're screwed. I mean thats only 4 weeks away. Just eat alot, lift, and sleep. Then do it all over again.

Even if you do as Chris said, I doubt that you can add 20lb's of pure muscle in a month.

Best thing you can do is to miss a few games, don't add weight stupidly. Keep eating healthy and try to add muscle weight because if you add 20 lb the Mcdonalds way then you are going to look like **** to be honest.

haha dude he's playing Center.

20 Extra pounds and it doesn't matter how he gets there. Training for football and training for anything else are going to be completly different.

It is my experience though, that if a coach is picking at something as small as 20 lbs then you're not going to play either way.

ok well yea the McDonalds way isnt cool. The 20 lb is before football season, which is next year. Like aug 11, but the jan 15 is when we get our pad for V! and Jv doesnt get them. I will be a Jr. and Im 16. I talked to coach and he said if i cant gain 20 before the 15th then i just workout in the gym instead of on the field running plays. but no center, and theres the problem. We have a senior center and he cant hold on to the ball 15 fum. in one season!!!! I get out weighted be 65lbs and that is the 2nd smallest lineman and he plays for the freshmen team! I work out once a day and am on MRI Pro-Nos protein. Im taking Amin Vital 2400mg, and for hard core days i take N.O. Xplode, the only thing is it has creatin and we have drug test and that shows up. so i cant do that! my intake of water is about 142oz threw out the day. and about 5,102 cal.

Fumbling isn't always the centers fault..it could be ****ty snaps but it's probably a combination of things..and your screwed if you wanna gain 20 lb. of muscle but since your a center do what chris said 20 lb. in a month is easy.

uh...gaining 20pounds in such a short time. Well even if it seems impossible, its worth a try. Eat fatty foods, i know these burgurs called croissants that are sold in grocery stores and they have about 500 calories and they are very small, so you can eat two in one meal. 1000 calories per meal should help.

i hate to tell you this but theres no way your gaining 20lbs pure muscle that quick.. unless you're already like 300lbs lean muscle

well now i weight 197.2 as of 1/9/09, thats about a 5 pound gain. I'm on the right path, but it still means that i have to think that size dosent matter, because that would mean that i would be out weighted by a freshmen and that would about 60pounds!!! Yes i know we have some fat as people on our team.  So now its all about pound for pound, hit after hit..... and i just have to get lower then they do and go harder and longer. I'm in the wieght room 6 to 5 days a week.( The only person that i know of) I gave up on the weight gaining and now im jsut trying to lift more and harder. Kinda the same concept but I know what im doing now isnt fat.....

well you're making one big mistake. you shouldn't be in the gym that much you gotta give your body more time too repair ( no it doesnt matter if you feel fine the next day)

unless you only target like one muscle group per day then you overworking you only need to be in the gym
 2-3 times a week thats if your working only a few parts of your body each day.

i'd say hit the gym mondays and thursdays and work your whole body, you may even only want to go once a week depending on your current physical status.

ok so im going to try this today, a 3 day workout.... and 4-5 meals, a day that is all that i can really fit in around and with my school.

yeah getting enough food while in school hours can be hard.

i looked in the healthy recipies fourm and made some granola.. i ate a 1lb bag while teachers werent looking, just today

Yea my teachers dont care. I'm up around 5:30ish and zero hour starts at 6:15 and then i get out of school at 2:20 mountain time

a BCAA supp will probably be benificial as well
