The problem with your advice is.. the original poster isn't anywhere near benching 400lbs..?? Also, I agree, the bench program is probably ok..for me the reps are too low.. I respond better to higher reps for both strength and hypertrophy.. I think it's great you want to share your wealth of knowledge but you may want to consider toning it down a bit and stop telling someone they're over-training.. I"m 45 years old.. and my mom passed away.. I don't need another one to take her place... throwing aroung un-waranted advice such as that lowers your credibilty.. I'm not even the OP.. If I need advice about my routine.. I have plenty of regulars here I feel comfortable asking and taking their advice.. If you're who you say you are.. you've obviously made some nice accomplishments.. but now that you've told everyone who you are and how much you can bench.. lets give it a rest.. Fair enough? ORIGINAL: swacky460 Yes i am dan swachammer.Weird.I am just saying how would somebody know how to bench 400 pounds if they haven't done it themselves?I know how to get their because i have benched 400 myself and yes at at 185.So no you don't have to be huge to bench 400.Look at my friend chris byrnes 376 at 132.

Sorry about your mom. That bench routine worked for alot of people that haven't benched 400 pounds.I put alot of people on it at the health club i go to and everybody has gained on it. The last person that tried it was a 17 year old kid that was stuck at 275 and he wanted to bench 330 before he graduated and he did on that routine.Sorry if i sound overbearing but was just trying to help. Also put one of friends on it and he went from 240 to 300 in 6 months. Not saying it's the best bench routine but does work. Not saying it will work for everybody but at least give a try if you want to increase your bench.I apolgize to everybody but git pretty peeved when people say i lie about who iam.

Swacky==I agree with what you're saying about training almost 100%. But like a lot of short strong guys who know a lil about what they're talking about, you came off a lil strong.(I'm 5'6" and 213lbs max. 355lbs for the bench) Credibility seems to be at a premium here. ANd now that I think about it, its probably why no one responded to MY post requesting a critique of my training. I personally think that the GROUP needs to recognize that there are some really strong people out here. My son and I are willing to verify our lifts for ANYONE in the Philadelphia Area Esp thehardway --the only catch is that you get us in your gym on our chest day...lol BTW our chest day is usually Tues

There is not a single thing suspicious about your posts. Read what I said in the what do you bench thread, that will explain at least from my perspective why Swanky got the response he did. To me all his post just don't add up (from the four threads he posted in especially for a serious natural powerlifter). It might sound weird but we have had a few imposters before (100% proven, not conjecture). But I certainly have been wrong in the past, and there is nothing preventing me from beiing wrong now or in the future for that matter. Yikes, thats is two more Philly boys on this forum.

Hardway.. you were right on line.. I've never in my life met a competing power lifter, especially one in his 30's who would even admit to buying a book by Greg Valentino detailing how to get bigger bi's.. That's laughable.. Having a visibly bigger bi is about the last thing a competing power lifter is interested in.. I'm sure some of the 15 year olds on here that have only been training 3 months would eventually catch that one.. But when you immediately start posting who you are, how much you can lift and how much experience you have and all the famous lifters you mingle with... Well.. that leaves you open for suspicion.. But who knows..... maybe he was serious.. I know If I were going to pretend to be someone it wouldn't be Dan Swackhammer???? you guys hijacked my thread for a court case haha. but it's ok, i have saved about 6 bench routines, and i plan on doing all of the, switching every 5-6 weeks. very excited about it. i'm one week in, and i can't wait for 6 motnhs to go by and see the results. for 5 years i dod 3 sets of 10. and for 2-3 years i've done 3 sets of 6-7. and recently i've been doing 5-6 sets going to failure. and as of a week i'm starting on a progressive load.
1 rep max: 260 lbs Goal: 300 lbs Been lifting for 9 years, still going

It very rarely involves "getting stronger" but.. that is usually how it is presented. I'm in a slump myself right now. My advice to you is to start doing chest twice a week if possible. work out your triceps HARD, they need to be strong for bench. Once you get to 6 reps on a certain weight, Add 2.5 lbs to each side of the bar. In a week or so... once you've gotten used to the extra 5 lbs, and when you find yourself doing 6 reps with the new weight, add 5 more lbs... Just slowly climb the ladder, and also.. keep in mind, it's just getting used to the weight. goodluck
