I am addicted to food

I have seriously come to this decision. I am addicted. I know it. I get this feeling I need food to wind down or go out or whatever. I have a decent metabolism, but I really dunno what to do? I just ate a turkey sandwich and a bit of desert. I didn't even really realize I was actually eating it, yano?

im the same way perry. I dont know what to do man. Ill stick to my diet and be clean for a few days and then ill of a sudden ill just give in and not really even realize what happened. Im sitting there and all of a sudden it hits me, what the hell did i just do. And its not just one meal. I think i have a problem guys..... i want to be "ripped" but these unconcious cheat sessions kinda kill. that, maybe i should start carrying around a pic of Arnold or somethin lol. God im tired of being overweight lol

Jane Get off the computer when you eat!! true, watching tv, surfin' the net can limit what you remember about eating because you are distracted. Food consumption is a very visual process and if you are not really comprehending what you are consuming you may eat again because that part of the pleasure of eating was not fullfilled. Eating also releases chemicals that make you feel good, kind of like when you have sex. It's your bodies way of making sure you eat to stay healthy. It is a reward system so that you eat to increase fitness(ability to produce offspring) and have sex to reproduce...basically the only real point of life in an evolutionary sense. Some people actually do get addicted to food because of the chemical release, just as other get addicted to sex or drugs due to chemical release. (usually dopamine related) This is one of the functions of the Limbic system, often refered to as the "pleasure center."

I'm terribly bad, late at night is when I'm the most tempted... I like eating pizzas, hot dogs, used to eat fast food but not that much anymore.. I know it's not good for my health yet I still do.. My endurance has gotten horrible, I blame a lot of it on the foods that I eat.. my cousin who is 6'0" 250 pounds and about 45% bodyfat can run a longer distance than me without stopping and can swim about twice as long as me without cramping up.. I'm 5'7" 185 pounds but not sure on my bodyfat.. Eating clean, according to Ryan Reynolds who is 3% bodyfat, is 80% is all of your progress...

So are you saying it is a problem for you or not? I don't get it. Eating is good of you want to get bigger, eating too much is not good if you are trying to lean out. Which is it?

The way I look at it is, even though I've been looking to get leaner, everytime I a good non-starchy or sugary carb then I feel as if I did something great! Like I can eat as much grilled chicken, fish, and veggies as I want.

Yeah vegetables give you very little overall energy expansion, they require almost as much energy to digest as they actually contain, they're basically just to fill you up. Chicken, fish, steak, etc.. are basically for the muscle building..but it's difficult to build muscle without glycogen so that's where whole grain (oatmeal, brown rice, pasta, whole wheat, etc..) come in.. When cutting, I'm finding it's good to just eat three meals per day with a protein shake in between each meal and a casein shake pre-bed..

Well, I would like to lean out a little, but I really really want to get up in the 210's, so it doesn't bug me much. I love eating. It makes me happy. I feel accomplished and stronger after I eat.. but then kinda guilty. Yeah, I wanna be 215, but not chubby as hell. Let me run you through my day today Woke up at 8:00, downed protein, hit the gym and went kind of light full body getting back into the routine, but I did super sets and I was sweating hardcore. Then I did some HIIT on a bike after for about 8 minutes. Got home and my bronchitis started acting up, so I took a nap. Went to work at 12:00. At work you are constantly walking or moving basically. Got off at 5:00. I immediately had to get to a guy's house to pack up my amp and guitar because we had a show at 7:30. So I packed and unpacked, played a hard hot as hell show for 30 minutes, and left. Got home, power was out, went to my woman's house, fooled with her, killed a copperhead, la la, got home, chilled out. Here I am now. Today I ate this.. #1: Protein Shake #2: 3 Eggs #3: 2 Big Chicken sandwiches #4: A danish thing before I had the show; I needed quick energy #5: Burger #6: grilled chicken with bacon and cheese That's really it. I do a bit of fast food because I am obviously ALWAYS on the move. I think I am burning the **** I eat anyway.

They just so much easier than pasta and rice to consume, taste better imo, and can eat larger quantities of. I'm just having the problem of eating 5 lots of meat a day - I get to 4 and when it comes to the fith I just cant physically swallow it, can't afford protein shakes and I don't consume dairy so milk is out of the question. :(

If you check most actors diets, like Ryan Reynolds who is 3% bodyfat and gives ALL of the credit to his diet...they will tell you this..eat 3 WHOLE meals per day..with protein shakes (which count as calorie meals) in between each meal..that's what I've found to be the most effective...and if you find oats and more effective towards you..live them up...I find brown rice and pasta tastes good so they're the center of my nutrition..

Actually after mulling it over, it turns out that ordering whey online rather than going to my local shop will work out to be half the price of buying the meat i consume in the same amount of time a tub will last me so I CAN NOW INFACT BUY WHEY!!!!!!!! lol never considered ordering online before, but I'm just relieved I dont have to forcefeed myself a fith portion of meat now lol!

You don't like meat? Steak, chicken, pork, roast beef.....mmmmmm I love it all. The redder the bedder!!! Beat deal about how you can't mix your whey with milk though. I'd hate to mix it with anything other then milk. BTW, what would you mix it with? Please don't say water.

Yeh I love meat but eating 5 portions a day, by the fifth it's pretty hard to swallow lol. And yeh I always mix my whey with water, it's probably not as nice as with milk but it's still tasty - just like I put water on my oats. Other people go eeeeew but it's fine they basically make their own milk.

Plus it's recommended while cutting because it doesn't contain the simple carbohydrates..sugars...etc. I know a guy that takes his whey with Gatorade, the bad thing is it's chocolate whey and lemon Gatorade, it's disgusting. I always take mine with milk, even now that I'm cutting weight.

Ya, I heard many times that you shouldn't drink milk while cutting. Personally, I think milk is one of those things that should be drank ALWAYS. It's some good a** s*** both in taste and nutritious qualities.
