Hungry at bedtime

The last couple of nights, I have been staying up late and find my self really hungry right as I am climbing into bed. So I wondered if I should eat something to prevent going catabolic? Or just go to bed and hope I'm ok til morning? The other issue is that I plan my calories out pretty well all day, so I am maxed out by bedtime. Eating something like cottage cheese doesn't put me over by much, but it still puts me over. Or do I just need to go to bed earlier? Damn this daylight savings time. My body is still not adjusted.

How long before you go to bed do you last eat? If it's a couple of hours, you may want to schedule another meal. Personally, I (almost) always have a casein/milk protein shake and an apple before going to bed.

Or do I just need to go to bed earlier? Damn this daylight savings time. My body is still not adjusted. You're telling me. I went from waking up every day at 2 in the afternoon to getting up at 5:00am after the time switch. Thats a 10 hour sleep shift!!!! I'd have to agree with these guys. Even if you have to take one bite out of every meal in order to squeese that extra meal in, its worth it. Let's face it, idealy we should be eating 20 50 100 miniscule meals a day in order to keep our metabolisms high. Adding an extra meal will only be to your benifit. I'd go with the casein shake. Probably wont be much more than 100-150 cals and it will definitely provide your body with the protein it NEEDS during the night.
