How's This Protein/Weight Gain Shake?
-

I have developed a simple shake that i am thinking about implementing into my daily diet. 12 oz 2% Milk 186 kcals 2 scoops whey protein 200 kcals 2 Tbsp Peanut Butter 190 kcals 1/4 cup oats 152 kcals Total 728 kcals I guess my biggest question is how do you think the consistancey of this shake will be? Im thinking it may end up too thick to drink. What do you guys think? Done anything similar or have recipes that will improve this one or that are even better?

2 full scoops of whey and 12 oz of milk? Combined with the pb, you will be farting non-stop with that much protein at once.

Jrrcsava1 Hahaha. I got a pretty solid stomach it has nothing to do with having a solid stomach, its more along the lines that you cant absorb that much protein in a sitting and the rest is eaten by the bacteria in your large intestines and you will have a crap ton of gas as a byproduct.

The pb is the least significant protein source. Drop one of the whey scoops, or at least lower it to 1.5 scoops (although 1 scoop would be better). If you want high calorie, add carbs. More oats. Maybe some fruit as well.

Here's my usual shake: 1/2 cup of oats 1 scoop of chocolate whey 1 cup of water 1 banana 1/2 cup of blueberries 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter What I do is blend the oats by themselves so they turn into a powder. Then I throw in the whey and the water and then blend to mix it all up. After that I throw in the banana and blueberries and liquefy them. Peanut butter goes in last because it's the thickest substance, and the liquid blend helps to move it around. I liquefy the whole thing for another minute or so and it comes out with a consistency slightly thinner than a milkshake.

I might have to try that out. I figured belnding them with no liquid wouldn't be very productive.

I used to cook the oats first, but then my shakes came out too thick and too heavy. I stopped cooking the oats and used to just blend them together with all the ingredients. But then the oats never really got ground down, so it was just raw whole oats in my shake. That's when I tried blending the oats dry and by themselves, after a few minutes they just turn into a fine powder.
