How to take creatine? - Friday, May 21, 2004 10:25 AM
Hey fellas I've decided to start taking 5 grams of creatine after every work out and cardio sessions which equals out to 6 days a week but I'm wondering what I should take the creatine with, milk, water or orange juice?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Non-acidic juice, apple or grape is best

Those juices help transport the creatine into the muscle better than other fluids. Acidic juices break down the creatine prematurely.

Yes, the simple carbs will cause an insulin spike and speed up uptake of the Creatine. At least in theory.

What about just mixing it with a post-workout protein shake?

That's fine.

You know, I think it's funny that we get so many more questions about how and when to take supplements than we do about how to work out.

COnsidering that proper exercise and diet is WAY more important than supplements, if you're that concerned about saving money, don't use supplements :)

It really doesn't matter that much when or how you take Creatine.
