How do you become a pro? I've been looking at the IFBB website but I haven't been able to find any information. Telling from what I've read in magazines it seems like you have to win certain contests, but anyway, any of you guys know?

. j/k. I believe you sort of place upwards progressively in contests and make a name for yourself, train with other pros, get to know people.

It depends on the federation.
WNBF has you do a local qualifier then National shows toward pro card.
IFBB has you do a local then province/state, then National where you have to get a card but not by placing only, they look at loyalty and usually you have to compete a few years and be seen..........politics............then if you get your card you can compete pro.

There are some "natural" organizations that offer Pro Cards:

W.N.S.O. (World Natural Sports Organization), based in Toronto
I.N.B.F. (International Natural Bodybuilding Federation)
N.G.A. (National Gym Association)

All have Pro Qualifiers at their state and regional competitions. If you win an Overall Open title at one of these Qualifiers, you get your Pro Card that night.

To get your Pro Card at the W.N.S.O., you have to win an Overall at a regional contest and then compete at the FAME WNSO World Championships in Toronto (June 2006). At that competition, you will compete in the Open on Friday or Saturday and if you win that contest, you win your Pro Card and compete the next day as a Pro (The FAME Worlds is a three-day competition).
