Question:

How many hours do you work each week?

Loaded question for me.

At my 'real' job?  About 35-40 hours a week.  Regular 9-5 type job.

But my 4 websites, 6 blogs and 1 podcast?

A crap load.

So in total?  I probably work a good 60-70 on my primary job and then this fitness business.  I don't consider DB or my other sites "hobbies" so I do put in a lot of time writing articles, podcasting, promoting, thinking of ideas, keyword research, new mini-sites to spread the word... it's work.

Varies from having up to 6 days off at a time, to working up to 60 hours a week. I do 12 hour shifts in blocks of 4, generally, (2 days, 2 nights) & it works out that I work 19 days out of 42.

It's hard to train after work - Up at 4.30am, leave 5.30am, start 6.30pm, home at 7.30pm, need to be asleep by 8.30pm to get 8 hours sleep - like that's going to happen...But I love the days off.

Well are we talking actual "quality" work here?  Smile

cuz I am actually at my place of employment from 8-5 M-F.......but during those hours I work about 1/2 the time, and the other 1/2 I spend playing with my web site too.

Haha!  I heard that.

No.  Just how many hours a week do you clock in at any type of job.

If you are a fireman but your 48 hr shift had no action and all you did was eat, sleep, chores and cards.. it is still 48 hours.

Let's see:

9 hours of so a day M-F, throw 2 hours commute on top makes it 11 hours a day M-F, throw in 8 hours every 2nd Sat evening of the month and it gets worse. No, what about on call? That's once every six weeks and averages about 3-4 hours additional time somewhere in my non-working hours, ussually at 2am...on Sunday..

I work 37.5 hours a week. I work in customer service for an insurance company dealing with people taking phone calls. Hearing people complaining when they're going to get paid on a claim and the list goes on and on. So it's 37.5 hours a week for it feels like 100hours..lol..

during the school year:  40 hours work/11 hours of classes/hard to quantify, but significant hours of homework and prep.  Play in an orchestra, practice, spend time with the partner, be a father, etc.  Ugh, it's a lot.  But the simple answer for work is 40ish, except those weeks that a client misbehaves.  Then way more.

I work as a service rep on the road so I am supposed to meet something like 35-37.5 hours a week. In reality I do work around 20-25 and do the paperwork at home quietly and more relax.

During school term time I "work" 8 hours a day parenting hard and have 4-5 hours of time which I have discretion over but I don't work a "paid" job at the moment.  I am waiting to start studying full time to become a teacher.  This starts in 3 weeks and then my whole life will change but I know I will still fit in my primary job of being a parent and my 5xweek gym visits and my squash and find time to have a social life.  It all shakes down somehow if you want it enough....
