How many grams of protein do you supplement with shakes/bars each day?

Does it matter?

What matters is your total protein intake, which should be no less than 1 gram per pound of bodyweight. Some argue this is more than enough, others go as high as 2g/BW.

I' m shooting for 1.25-1.5g of Protein per pound of BW. It' s do-able. Combining with real food meals and supplement meals, it' s working just fine. Going above the recommendation at the high end of 2g of Protein seems to be on the excessive side.

Regardless, just make sure you are drinking enough water. Protein puts a lot of work on the kidneys for filtration.

So drinking 1-2 gallons of water each day is not unheard of. Recommended. Smile
