How low do you go? - Friday, May 02, 2003 12:01 PM
Im curious how low do you guys go when performing squats? I go intill my legs have a 90 degree angle. Is this good enough or is there a specific angle that would be more effective?

Thanks

Parallel or 90 degrees. Some go just a tiny bit below that. Going much beyond is a recipe for trouble. Too many people have told me they did low squats with heavy weight and paid later on.

I don' t even bother doing them with light weight really low. Just doesn' t seem good for the knees.
