I am 16 years old. Im about 6'4, and am 230. I have been going to the Gym for a month or so, i went before but i had to leave for the summer, and their was no gym avalible then for football season our coaches wouldnt allow us to go to the gym. but no matter how i try i have a spare tire just below my belly button. its not much but its fat and sticks out. is their anyways to stop this? i remember last time i got tested i was 18% b/f, my limbs are fairly long but their is loads of power, my trainer wasa bodybuilder and says that people would kill for my legs, i need to get bigger up top though becasue of my postition but i want to look good too so any help on losing my tire of flab would be apperciated. Thanks

what you are referring to is spot reduction, which is not possible. You cannot just focus on losing fat on one part of your body, but you may lose fat all over and your "spare tire" should go away. also, to tighten your lower abdomen, to hanging leg raises/knee raises and other abdominal exercises. it will take time, but if you work hard, you will definitely get there.

All about the diet. First stop for you should be to find out how many calories you need to burn fat- Check out the top of our nutrition forum, and look for the calorie calculators. Once you have that number, you can check out the rest of the nutrition forum for some meal plans, and you'll be on your way.
