I've been lifting for about a month or so now, I'm already seeing a difference, not a big one, but when I started my chest was basically flat, you could see my ribs, and it looked like I was kind of sucking in, not to mention my arms looked like pure skin and bones. A friend of mine was in the same situation, he's been working out for 3 months and recently made a bet that I couldn't catch up to him, I started at 129lbs. and now I'm at 136lbs. I lift every other day, benching, curling, and situps. I need to get a gym pass but that's not available for possibly a few weeks, any suggestions in gaining faster?

don't rush the process.. eat well, sleep well, lift hard and the gains will come.. sooner that you think.

Most important- To gain muscle, you have to eat right. Read this- http://www.discussbodybuilding.com/What_the_hell_is_a_calorie_anyway/m_135283/tm.htm You're making a big mistake by working the same muscles every other day. As others here have already said, muscle grows when you're resting- And a couple of days of rest just doesn't cut it, whether you feel ready for another workout or not. Try out a routine like this for better results- Monday- Chest Tuesday- Legs Wednesday- Shoulders Thursday- Back Friday- Arms Throw in abs wherever you like. This sort of routine makes sure each muscle group gets an entire week of rest to recover and build new muscle. Best of luck!

Thanks for the suggestions, also, one big advantage I have on him is that he doesn't eat all that great, he eats things like ramen noodles, and instant foods, he also hates wheat bread so he only eats white. I've been eating great, I take my vitamins, drink around a gallon of water a day, eat wheat bread with eggs, have snacks through out the day, etc. I'm getting my gym pass coming up here, so one muscle a day? Someone told me that's not enough but I'll trust this site over them. Thanks everyone!
