How to get a Swimmers Build?
-
Monday, August 17, 2009 3:58 PM

I believe a swimmer's build is most attractive as it helps you achieve the adonis index. Is there a step-by-step method of achieving this? I tried different sources but you have to pay for all of them.

So swimmers don't have a swimmer's build? That was the ONE thing I at least thought I had figured out. Does this mean I don't have to pay my student loans? That diploma is worthless. :( What's a swimmer's look? Low body fat, probably big shoulders, wide lats. Everything else just nice size and defined, but not huge? Do you want to look like Phelps? I think that's gross.

Ziad123 Nah, its not swimming, theres a routine to this, i read that somewhere. I imagine itd be real easy. Theyre real lean with just a little bit of muscle not much though so get your diet real clean, get in the single digits of bf and hit the weights until youre where you wanna be. I never had a "swimmers build" because I passed up that stage during my first bulk. You could get that kind of muscle in months...If youre lean already itll be cake. edit: Oh, yeah. Forgot the most important part. Swim alot.

Uh.. There are three steps. Swimming. Eating. Lifting. Eat a lot, or a little depending on your body fat etc. If your new to lifting do something like starting strength etc. And just swim.

Well, some kind of cardio would help you strip that fat off. But swimming and lifting will make you look like that for sure. Its hard to put on a ton of mass if youre a swimmer, youre just doing too much endurance work and cardio so it eventually levels off the amount of muscle theyll build. Thats why I say swim, but you could easily get the "swimmers body" without swimming at all.

Swimmers look the way they do because a rather obese person wouldn't make quite the swimmer. JMO.

You need low body fat and just a bit of muscle. Its real simple. But if youre not dedicated itll be hard to maintain. Youre diet will have to be spot on 24/7 if youre not swimming all the time or at least doing some kind of long cardio sessions as a hobby.

MVP Speaking of floating (although off-topic) I've heard by that TV show mansers that a woman's breast floats (if they're real). Seems like that would make sense. Breasts are fat which floats. Implants are water (same density as water of course) or silicone (which is probably at least as dense as water). So you're probably right. Do you have a suspect?

I've known a lot of great chubby swimmers, of course they weren't professional but better than many others.

Im not certain, but I thought the adonis index used the golden ratio to compare shoulder to waist measurements. I dont think too many swimmers have a shoulder width thats 1.618 times their waist. Thinking of this made me grab the tape measure and I was surprised to find that I match this number almost perfectly Maybe subconsciously thats why I dont want to gain any more mass.

I don't know her real height and weight, just saying she was small and very lean. Her tits were ridiculously huge though. I'm 5'9" so she's probably about 5'2" or so, she wasn't really tall, but man her tits were like Greg Valentinos arms, LoL. She must have injected them with motor oil. If that's the case I'm wondering why I didn't volunteer to give her an oil change.

As a former swimmer I used to be told when i was skinnier that I had a true "swimmers body" even when i hardly had any muscle. From what I was told it's simply having broad shoulders especially in comparison to your waist. The back appears to grow somewhat decently (in comparison to everything else from swimming which doesn't appear to) from swimming and we did pull ups a lot which which have been shown to increase swimming performance. Working back and nothing else will probably give you that appearance you are looking thinking of however you could build a much better, balanced build from weightlifting.
