Home Made Protein Bars? - Saturday, November 20, 2004 10:35 PM ( #1 )
Does anyone have a good recipe for protein bars? I eat 1-3 granola/ceral bars a day cuz I get too busy at the office. I'd like to make a nutritious replacement with alot less sugar than what these "candy bars" have.

probably be a good idea just to buy some. not many of them are nice to eat which is a major problem. best to stick to the smaller bars as the larger ones are like chewing the bark off a tree

" Here we go The Bigfella's home-made protein bars......Get on 'em every bites a winner!!!LOL.

1 cup Natural peanut butter
8 tablespoons honey
1&1/4 cups whey protein powder
1 cup of uncooked oatmeal

Mix the pb and honey in a bowl, microwave on full for 80 secs. Add the rest and mix together (get your hands in man!!) can add raisins/nuts etc to taste. Smooth into 13x9 tray and leave for 20 mins. Cut into 10 to 12 equal bars and wrap and store in fridge!!

Good luck and happy munching.......you'll be back for more!!

break down Per bar :-
protein 20g,
carbs 30g
fat 20g of which only 3g are saturated

You can adjust the breakdown buy adjusting hte quantitieso f ingreadients, which is why these bars are great for cutting OR bulking. The only problem is, they taste so damn good, that everyone else in teh family finishes them:(

what would be good to cut down on the bulking and make those more cutting or more so inbetween the two extremes. Since as of now I neither want to really bulk or flat or cut. Want to cut and get toned as well as gain a small amount of size and strength (minimal size though). I'm guessing I should go with a more cutting bar anyway.

So what out of the above ingredients should I change?

And if I want to not make my own, whats a good cereal bar or nutri bar or protein bar or drink (something quick to fill my stomach and give energy) to eat that will be good for more cutting? I'm curious cuz I really don't know what to eat and the fact that my inbetween meals are mostly fruits or bars, it would help.

Any info is appreciated... thanks

cut out the honey and splenda- and do a half cup of pb.
by my calculations there is 380 calories per bar the bulking version.
Bench-305(5 partial reps)
Squat-450(4 reps)
deadlift-435(2-3 partials)
front squats- 225(6-8)
leg press-835(8reps)
at 19!
priceless
