Highschool Football Weightlifting Help - Wednesday, January 25, 2006 7:44 PM
Hey, I was searching for an average weight lifting max outs and I came across this forum.  I thought it might be a good way to find some supplimental help or something of the kind.  I am 16, or will be as of January 29th.  I am a sophomore and in football and am currently lifting off-season for the 2006 season.  I weigh 195-200, closer to 195 and am about 6 ft. tall.  For our football lifting, we have a schedule and lift every Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays after school.  At the end of every month, we max out on the 3 main core lifts: Bench, Squats, and Dead Lift.  Every once in a while we max out on Cleans as well.  I didn't know if there was anything special that I would be able to take that could help me gain some more weight and put on some more bulk and muscle.  We maxed out Wednesday the 25th on Bench and Squats.  I raised 10 lbs in 1 month on bench from 175 to 185, and raised 40 lbs on squats from 275 to 315.  it wasn't a true 40 lbs because last month I tried for 295 and couldn't get it.  But I am going for 1st string Offensive Left Guard and Possibly Center plus Defensive Tackle, is there any kind of suppliments or something that will help boost that so I would have a better chance?  I have tried Creatine before and it didn't work the best.  By the way, my Dead Lift is up to 355 so far, I am aiming for 365 to 375 on Friday.

Thanks.

Definatly use supplements they really help you gain quicker and work through plateus
I am a Junior right now I play football too so I know where you come from
Most ppl on this forum swear by creatine i personally have used it -you have to stick with it just like anything else when it comes to weight lifting
I use protein because my coach would hang me if i used creatine
He is the safer than sorry type no long term study possible kidney problems w/o proper hydration etc.
Creatine use it but be smart and stay hydrated
