Hi, I'm new here, I hope to get to know you guys better throughout the months ahead. My name is Henry and I am 19 years old and I weigh 133LBS (I weighed at an ALL time low of 125LBS and had a bodyfat % of 6 and I used to weigh 140LBS which I believe was pure fat) Now I weigh about 133LBS sitting at a bodyfat percentage of 10-11ish. I've been doing a lot of researches on how to gain muscle and what kind of supplements to take and they are as follow: creatine, glutamine, and whey protein. So far I am using whey protein, multi-vitamin pills, and soon I will be using creatine as well. I know I am suppose to eat 6 meals a day (healthy food) I realized that a lot of you guys out there are doing squats and bench press well over 100 lbs. I on the other hand can only do 50LBS for squats and 50lbs for bench press for now.(I'm a newbie) Am I an ectomorph?

Am I an ectomorph? Im guessing you are because your 133lbs at age 19 but i cannot be sure, unless if i see you. Here's how you know: If your skinny if you got thin bones if its hard for you to gain muscle and FAT If your body is long and tenuous If your really active If you got a fast metabolism Any other questions??? because i didnt catch any other than that

I know I am suppose to eat 6 meals a day (healthy food) It's good that you know that- But do you? If you're looking to put on some muscle weight, or any weight really, all those supps won't be where you make your gains. It's the food that does most of the work, supps give you an extra edge. In fact, if I were you, I'd get my nutrition straight first thing, perhaps with a nice protein shake after workouts and the multivitamins- Use nothing but those for a few months, and then start trying the creatine. Do that for a few months, then add the glutamine. It's the best way to see what's working for you- There's a percentage of people that don't seem to respond to creatine, for example, and the only way you'd know if you were in that percentage would be to see how you gain without it, and then measure it against how you gain with it- No sense in wasting your money on something that might not work for you. (Please note, I'm not knocking creatine at all- Just make sure it's for you.) Of course, on another note, once you start getting serious about your nutrition, rest and lifting, you're going to make leaps and bounds in your size and strength- These are known as beginner gains, and they will eventually slow down, so take that into consideration when you're trying out supps.

I understand that, but wouldn't they get even just a little bit of fat on their bodies if they ate all junk food, or all greasy foods, instead of healthy salads?

if the correct ratio is applied, and they econsume less calories than they expend, they would not, however if they cross this threshhold and have more calories, which are non usable for hypertrophic growth(ie carbohydrates, which provide energy, and fats, also a more potent source of energy). id keep up with your lifting, and depending on your goals, id reccomend, along with a solid eating plan, max ot. finish a cycle, then apoply the same pricipals, but throw in some cardio and cut. repeat until desired results abound, but make sure you dont plateau. keep liftin! youll be putting 225 up for reps in no time.

Am I an ectomorph? Or a combination. You have ecto traits in your post. But the best write-up I've seen on the various combos is in Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. People are not usually pure ectos or anything. I'd say you have 80% of those tendencies. Especially weighing in at 133lbs. You can gain fat eating the right foods. If it's in excess. But gaining muscle is harder for the ectomorph then a mesomorph. Regardless, you'll have other traits that will come into play. I used to just classify myself into one of the three as well. But I do have some meso traits as well on various body parts. Knowing what you do about yourself just makes your eating more important. Eat the right stuff. And eat a lot of it.

Gosh, very nice gains for him. It took me 2 1/2 months to put 60lbs on my squat.

That's Anthony Ellis, he sells a program I've had my eye on for a while- Always wanted to try it. Then again, maybe it won't work as well for me, since I'm not really an ectomorph- I've never had a BF% as low as his. I know he markets the program towards hard gaining ectos, I wonder what it would do to the rest of us...

Well the one thing I've not really see taken to the max is: REVIEWS I have the Burn the Fat ebook by Tom Ventuo. I read it. I did a big review on it. I also have the AtoZ Fitness book by Lewis Wolk and I did a decent review on that. Then I wrote the Beginner's Guide to Fitness & Bodybuilding (which somebody else did a review on here) Most ebooks you will find come with some great money back guarantees. And knowledge is cheap really at the prices people are offering. So it's $37? Big deal. I bet most adults on this forum will spend that on dinner for 3 people 1 night. And yet they would get a lifetime of knowledge out of those books. My point? All it takes is 1 person to buy 1 book, write a review and all of the sudden, so many of us can start to weed out what's good and what's not. I believe Anthony and yet I don't know him. I bet he's the skinny guy who worked out hard and ATE a ton of good foods. He put on some solid weight. Then he put his expertise and experience into a book and is selling it. I did a post a while back on this subject. Is there just 1 book or are there many books you can benefit from? My opinion is there are many many books and videos and conversations that will help you out to reach your goals all thru your life. If you can afford it, buy the book. Read the guarantee. Then write a nice big review so the next guy can see it. Many sites do reviews but they are short and then link right off to the book. I don't think I've seen a more comprehensive book review of Burn the Fat then mine. It's like 5 pages plus. Amazon does book reviews. I don't see a lot of people doing them for the fitness industry. But I see a lot of questions and a lot of people are worried about losing money.
