Hi I'm new here - Tuesday, January 13, 2009 1:53 PM ( #1 )
Well I just joined, I've been reading for a while. I just bought Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle a couple of days ago and have been reading it religiously.

I am 307 pound 5'11 and my goal is to get down to 190 with muscle. I have already been working on changing my diet, it is obviously a work in progress, and have calculated for a 1-2 pound loss on average I need to eat around 2000 calories a day.

Look forward to meeting new people and learning more.

Welcome tom!!good to see a new member!(we've been getting a lot lately, huh?) that is an excellent and very achievable goal my friend, but you're going to have to work hard and be dedicated, I'm sure you can do it! if you're looking to keep and gain some muscle, make sure to eat a decent amount of protein. welcome again !!!

Hey Tom,

welcome to the boards and thats great news that your getting your head straight and taking the first step. Theres a great website called:

www.Fitday.com

It's a free online calorie counter, just have to register and most of the time there is already pre-loaded products in their system, but i suggest inputing your own for more accurate results.

Here is a "master" grocery list with some good recomendations for all your food needs.

Your also going to need to read this: Calorie Calculator. Find out how much you really need to eat. Work from there.

Good luck.
