Hey, im new here so first id just like to say WHATS UP. LOVE THE SITE! Im 16 years old(just turned 16), 5"3,138lbs. I got a few questions.. Heres the thing, i sometimes workout the same muscles two days in a row...Now is that OK, or does that harm ur muscles? i was told as long as u rest for a couple days after that then it will be good..And will u still get gains doing this? because honestly i just love to workout,so im always craving just to go to the gym and pump some iron. And i have this weight gain shake called PRO SPORT GAINER. it has 1100 cals anf 60grams of protein per serving, how many of these should i have a day? and how many cals should i have in the day if im trying to bulk up? normally ppl my height(5"3) are around 100lbs, and are real skinny, but i am alreadt musuclar from working out for awhile thats y im heavy for my height im not chubby lol. But i want to get up to 150 for now, but in the future even bigger. also i just started eating MAMMOTH weight gain bars(1) which are 30grams of protein and 370cals per bar for my pre workout, then for after my workout i have a PROSPORT GAINER shake...is this good? is it just a waste of a bar to have it before my workout? i was told its good, because it fuels ur muscles. And would it be bad to have a bar PLUS the shake for after my workout? because the bar is 370cals and the shake is 1100cals thats 1470cals...i think lol. Also i have been working my chest for awhile but i aint seeing many gains!(i started off just working my arms last year) so i made a mistake there by not working my chest, but i do see better results in my lower back which i also just started to work.

Dont work the same muscle 2 days in a row-not heavily anyway, you should never work a sore muscle, if you love working out, work an individual muscle group every day, so you can still train, but not work sore muscles example Monday-biceps tuesday-chest wednesday-legs thursday-triceps friday-lats *looks back* that is a crap routine...but its a example 6 weeks ive been doing chest-no results youre not alone, but as i have the same problem, i cannot exactly give you advice on this little problem. What do you eat aside from all these supplements? supplements and bars and shakes are all very well but you still have to eat normal healthy food to give you the carbs and protein and fats etc.

Yeah, theyre the kinds of foods you want, good job! You seem to have nutrition spot on, just work individual muscles, never work a sore muscle, and do different exercises on the chest so the muscles have to adapt to something new, thats the advice i was given, i havent been training for long enough to have any noticable effects, should do hopefully in 2-3 weeks time and if it works i'll post my old routine and new routine for you so you can do it to see if it works for you...if you want me to...

Ive been doing weights on and off for 2 years, and seriously in the last...well...if you take being serious going to a gym-then 6 weeks though i was training quite hard and seriously with my own weights for a month or so before that, so id say 2-3 months-ish ive been training seriously

Ive seen a BIG BIG difference, i had definition before them 2-3 months, but was skinny (still am) but have gotten considerably bigger than from what i used to be. I feel a crapload stronger too, im glad i joined a gym, because in these 6 weeks my numbers (apart from bench >_<) just keep going up and up, Im actually surprised with my leg strength considering my thighs are an amazingly thin 20 inches from last measure thats less then arnolds bicep size....which is CRAZY Youre a hardgainer? Same here, if you want to see go to critique my physique and you can tell from my body that im an ectomorph and have trouble gaining, even while eating like a monster and always getting over 2500 cal a day, but i seem to be stably gaining weight now, ive gained 9lbs and kept it there, give or take 1-2lbs which for me is amazing. The advice i can give to fast metabolisers is pasta, loada and loads of pasta, it clogs your bowels up like mad for the first few weeks but your body gets used to it, then starts packing on lbs, but i have to weightlift to convert that into stable weight, my body is extremely efficient at getting rid of fat. The only reason ive seen big gains is because im tiny, so my body just goes 'yep lets make more muscle" but unfortunately when i get bigger (not if, WHEN, i wont give up EVER) my body will be like "if i add any more muscle your bones will break from the weight" LOL Ive seen your other topic, barbell 110lbs? thats quite impressive...How big are your arms?

My weights only go to 100lbs and i can do 4 reps on that... which is 100lbs, though it kills my arms entirely...

Drink your shake once in the morning when you wake up, and have another after your workout. I wouldn't take the bar and shake together because I doubt your body will absorb 90g of protein. Instead eat the bar as a snack before you workout, or pretty much whenever you feell hungry.

As compared to? Sure, if your using just your biceps and not swinging them up. But it ain't a pissing contest. Paul

If you do 10 sets of 8-12 reps for biceps, how many different machines/exercises should u do for biceps? doing this for each one?

I'd recommend 3-4 different exercises. I only do three different exercises in each session for biceps but I do try to hit it from different angles with different loads. Paul

Rest. Don't worry about your biceps, they don't mean very much in terms of strength.
