Running on the treadmill is very good to get the abs to show. Because its not like running at all believe me im in track i run like 5 miles on the treadmill like nothin then i can barly do 2 miles on track. BUT ANY WAYS running on treadmill helps your abs because you are lifting your knees up more then when you run so it works your abs also you sweat and loss wieght = body fat % goes down. Drink alot of water after it tho. I run 2 miles on the treadmill every other day

Andy, you've obviously got the goods- But I think it's from good genetics and a fast metabolism more than anything else. Using a treadmill to work your abs is like saying your arms get a good workout from the swinging motion when you run- It's just not a challenging exercise for your muscles.
Think about it- Running, whether it's on a treadmill or not, is a cardiovascular exercise. Sure, your muscles are involved, and sure, they might feel like they're getting worked out- But your body is used to using those muscles to haul itself around all day long. Your legs are used to supporting the weight of the body, so running isn't a challenge to those muscles. Your abs are used to keep your body erect all day, so running really isn't a challenge for them either- It's not a challenge for any muscle, except your heart. The only way cardio really helps when it comes to getting abs is by burning fat, which makes them visible. It does nothing when it comes to building the actual muscle at all.
Of course, when we run, we DO feel like our muscles are getting a workout- Legs get all pumped and start to burn after a while, they might feel tight after the run, and may even be sore the next day- But none of this means anything. The pump, the burn, the soreness- None of it actually indicates a good muscle building workout. Those are all symptoms of muscular fatigue, and fatigue alone does not build muscle.
For you, it seems like a lot of stuff would work for your abs right now- You said in another post that you don't really watch your nutrition that closely- But for most people, they have to work extremely hard to get even a six pack, or a four pack. While it's a good thing that you want to help out, it'd be a better thing to learn what most people without your gifted genes and metabolism have to do in order to get where you are. What works for you will not work for most others. It'll also benefit you to do some research now- In time, your metabolism is going to slow down, and you're going to need to know how and what to eat in order to keep those abs visible. Ask 8pack, he's our resident ab expert.
Hope this helped.

thats it right there, like i said before his got the track runner abs, they are visible because he's extremely low on body fat, andy you need to make them pop out with some heavy training. All that running keeps him in shape. Which is a great thing

This cracked me up......good one cpl.....

The only benefit for the abs by running would be sprinting. Ever see the abs on those runners at the olympics? there poppin out....
