if all you have a is a 40 lb dumbell.. find a friend with some decent weights.. or get a gym pass. EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT as much as you can.. keep working out and youll realize that your appetite gets bigger and bigger and bigger. be strict about your training and diet too. make a good workout routine and fix your diet to how you like it. but eat big

wasnt you here before about a year ago? I remember you saying how your sister works somewhere where she can get you supplements and you practically lived off them thats why theyre called supplements, theyre meant to boost standard gains etc. Standard gains of which-is FOOD. eaty poos! lol hmmm...strange...I used to look like that when i was 5'11" but i was around the 135lbs-140lbs mark... Maybe its just the picture...or bone densities...My wrists are 7 1/4"

Sumdude, The components to gaining muscle are real simple. 1. Train hard 2. Eat well and a lot. 3. Sleep. The problem you have is it will be difficult to train hard with a 40 pound barbell. There has to be a gym, YMCA or school near you. Many gyms offer young people a chance to workout in exchange for helping clean up. Another benefit of a gym is there are people there that are experienced and will be glad to help you with proper form and techniques. If worse comes to worse, sell all those supplement you have and join a gym! Protein supplements are great, but they are just what they claim, supplements. Nothing is a substitute for real food. Eat big to get big. Make sure you learn to squat properly. Squats make the body grow all over. Keep your workouts simple and don't over-train. If you put your mind to it, you will be shocked at the progress you make. With respect, Intense

I've always got the best mass-building stimulous from the following: - Bar across your back (Delts and traps -front squats are too advanced and require lower weight)
- Feet slightly wider than shoulder-width (in-step approximately in line with the outside edge of your shoulders)
- Back straight, NEVER arched, not more than 45 degrees forward lean throughout the whole movement.
- Drop all the way to parallel, making sure your knees don't thrust forward more than 3 inches beyond your toes.
- Drive your heels into the floor and stand back up, concentrating on pulling your knees back with your hamstrings and glutes (don't just visualize trying to push your feet forward -that puts your mental focus on the vastus muscles surrounding your knees).
- Do not lock you knees at the top.
- Choose a weight that you can handle without your knees drifting inward on the up-stroke.

Yes, that's me in my avatar, and NO, I don't look like that today. That was taken back in Jan '07, and I lost most of that progress when I slacked off last year. I'm on my way back, tho, and I'm using that photo for inspiration.

here is the bottom line my friend! if your are sick of being skinny like i always was you need to dedicate yourself to a diet and exercise program. you need to research diets around here thoroughly, as well as exercise. consistancy is key! if you want it, go for it. 5 months ago i didnt look too much different from you, and ive gained 20 pounds(alright, 17...), gained more definition and gained nearly 100 lbs on my bench. this came from dedicating myself to it! so get a gym membership(highly recommended!), or go to a friends house with weights and start eating more protein and less junk food to start out.

All I can say is EAT like 5-7 times a day and try to get as much protein as possible the body can handle 44grams per/2hrs so try to achive that high calories and lift heavy when working out. When you eat make sure it is healty like turkey egg whites chicken cottage chz milk protein powder. When I started 1 1/2 yrs ago i weighed 155 as of now I weigh 193
