Help/Advice me please. Serious newbie here. - Saturday, September 12, 2009 3:18 PM ( #1 )
Well I've worked out for 6 months once..when I was still a sophomore in high school..and that was forced b/c of  my gym training class. Other than that, I've never worked out. Not even at home. I'm a lazy slob. Except that I do pushups regularly, atleast 30 times a day. But I haven't done that for 2 weeks now.

Now that I'm 17 and in college, I've become more and more self aware of my body and looks, and I'm motivated to transform my body.
I'm 5'11, 177 pounds the last time I checked.
Have no idea how much my %body fat is, but I believe I have mostly baby fat?
Seriously, I have like a female body. Like..you know how those emo guys have those kind of nonathletic, naturally skinny body? Almost like that, but I'm not 'skinny'.
My body is weird. I'm not fat, but I have that fat on my stomach. I look 2 months pregnant when I sit or when I stand without sucking up my body. And my body kinda looks flat..but not in a good way..
The point is .. I hate the way my body looks. It's too gentle..too boyish. Oh and I have no muscle at all on my arms lol.

I HATE sit ups/crunches. Makes me extremely nauseous. I don't mind running, unfortunately I get tired easily (maybe because I rarely work out).

My diet is horrible too. I like to eat sweets but not too much. I eat oily foods, but I've reduced that. I eat when I want to, not according to the 'correct' schedule. I eat at night too. I like to eat until I'm 100% full.
Sometimes I starve myself too. Sometimes I can [not eat] from I wake up to 6 P.m. [Not eat from morning to night). I don't eat breakfast. Yes I know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but idk why it's hard for me to eat breakfast. Makes me want to throw up.

And now that I have money, I will join new york sports club and  go to gym daily if I can. [I haven't registered yet]

So please.. any suggestions/advice? What should my diet be.. What should my training be.. and other things like that

Welcome but didn't you already post this exact topic somewhere else?

Anyhow, for starters you are going to have to get your diet in check. I may be a little high on this but I myself aim for 1 gram protein/lb of body weight. Keep it consistent and cut out the unwanted sugars so you are eating good carbohydrate sources such as pasta or rice. My diet consists of a lot of eggs, red meats, pastas and milk.

As far as lifting goes, something basic is all you need now. Here is a Starting Strength outline that a lot of people like on here.

You alternate Workout A and Workout B every other day, 3 times a week. So you could either do Mon, Wed, Fri or Tues, Thurs. and Sat. Depending on what works best for you.

Example:

Week 1:

Monday - Workout A
Wednesday -Workout B
Friday - Workout A

Week 2:

Monday - Workout B
Wednesday - Workout A
Friday - Workout B

Etc.

For the actual workouts read below:

Note: This doesn’t include warm-up sets

**Means this is OPTIONAL**

Workout A
3x5 Squat
3x5 Bench Press
1x5 Deadlift
**2x8 Dips (if you cant do these or no assist machine then do Decline Dumbbell Bench Press with your hands Facing each other)

Workout B
3x5 Squat
3x5 Standing military press
3x5 Pendlay or Bent Rows (or power cleans)
**2x8 Chin-ups (recommended mainly if doing the cleans)
