Help needed. - Saturday, January 12, 2008 12:57 PM ( #1 )
Hey,

my name is Evan. I work out 2 times a week at the local YMCA. I usually work all upper body because I am happy with my lower body. I have a skinny build thanks to my dad and his dad(and probably his dad, too). I take protein drinks and I don't eat a lot of unhealthy food. I get a good ammount of fiber, protein and vitamins in my daily life. I don't eat much vegatables but I eat multigrain bread and multinutrional foods. I am 6'3" and I weigh around 170-175 pounds.

My problem:

I would like to gain weight and muscle but working out and taking protein isn't looking like its helping. I do pushups, crunshes and pullups(with a pullup bar obviously) in my room. I have good tone on my muscles just because I dont gain fat on my arms/upper chest/legs. All the weight I gain and food I eat seems to go straight to my tummy area. Like any other person who wants to look physically better, I want a good chest and stronger arms. I can't seem to lose weight on my tummy though. I am not on any particular "diet" but I would like to diet if I could gain muscle mass. I am not looking for a bigger body to threaten people but I would like a bigger body because I don't enjoy being skinny at all, I don't think my skinniness is attractive. I need to find some method of working my chest and pecs very well and be able to gain tone and mass. My arms are a worry of mine too just because when I look at myself I don't think I am where I'd like to be. I am not depressed nor do I hate myself because of my body, don't get me wrong, having no fat anywhere(except for my tummy) is great.

Can anyone help me out?

You really need to buy some weights or join a fitness club because pushup, situps, and pullups are  only beneficial(at providing growth) for a limited amount of time...Also, working out legs causes your body to release growth hormone, so your entire body will benefit(grow).

no,you'll work everything. especially doing squats, leg presses, different deadlifts. I remember somebody a while back said that doing all-around-mass builders like those (heavy) excrete's more GH

I'd personally use the YMCA, it's not that expensive is it?
