Help!!! - Tuesday, February 01, 2005 8:09 AM ( #1 )
Fist of all I am new here and would like tp say hello. I have been reading some of the other post and have learned a good deal. I Have read that newbies can work out more often at first. I am a newbie and would like to pick your brains for a good program to start with. I understand the 5x5 principle and think this is deffinately the way to go. Any and all help will be appreciated

If your into Powerlifting and Strenght training you may want to check out some of the Westside methods. You can do a hybrid Westside program with the 5x5. I used to belong to this gym here http://www.albanystrength.com/video.shtml From what I understand, the majority of them work out four days a week with a fifth day of possibly light training with the four days being.... two max days, and two speed days. I wish I could point in a direction to get a full understanding of all that, but I am not sure were to go... try www.testosterone.net and possibly www.elitefts.com (I think that's it) The guy who writes great articls on all this is Dave Tate, a Westside member. His articles are awesome, you are sure to find a bunch on the T site. Hope that helps bro...

I feel that 5x5 and variations of 5x5 produce the best results for strength training. Stick with compound exercises. I've posted a training split many times on this site. Just do a little seach.
