Help i have no shoulders! - Thursday, August 07, 2008 5:16 PM ( #1 )
i cant make my shoudlers grow and while th rest of my arms do im just beggining to looks funny , yestarday in the gym my friend said i basically have no shoulders but my arms are big , and i was wearing a tank top right he said i definatly shouldnt until my shoulders grow , how disheartening hahaha ,  narrow small shoulders run on both sides of my family , dad , bro , mom , all narrow skinny shoulders! i need boulders! help!

heres my shoulder routine been doing it about 4 weeks

shoulder press w/ dbs , 55lbs , which is my max , i get to about 7 myself on the first set then 3-4 on the next and use a spotter to get to 7-10 reps

behind the head shoulder press with BB , 80lbs , rep ranges the same

then bent over laterals with dbs

the front raises with BB .

i need these suckers to grow any advice or potential routines uve had success with?... asking those who have had no shoulders like myself and build them up with out juice! thanks all!

you get 7 reps the first set and 3-4 the 2nd?i'd rest longer..also i've never done behind the head shoulder press i just would probably do normal ones myself..also when do you work your shoulders? if your working them with other parts of your upper body put them first so you are at full stregnth.
Goals by end of 2009:
Bench 205
Squat 255 ATG
Squat Clean 185

Dont do behind the head, you can injure yourself. Do normal overhead presses like connelly said :)

please dont speak as if it was fact

look if you do behind the neck presses (seated) you bring it down to your ear level and thats it no further or yes theres a chance of injury (because of hyperextending your rotory cuffs)

do

behind the head shoulder press - 4 x 8-12
side laterals - 4 x 8-12
rope pulls - 4 x 8 - 12 (stand with rope attachment pull rope to forehead )

also upright rows 3 or 4 sets same reps

There isn’t much that can be done if you have narrow shoulders.  You can’t train out of your natural bone structure.  You should train your deltoid muscles to add a few inches of breadth.  You should avoid training your trapezius since the gradual slope from neck to shoulder in a well-developed trapezius will make the shoulders look even narrower.  You want contrast.

thats gotta be b.s , i mean to be honest ive never acutally consistantly worked my shoulders , for the 1.5 years ive been lifting the first 6 months i was only working my arms and chest pretty much ,   and pretty much kept it up , i mean i would work out my shoulders for 2 weeks then stop for three cuz i didnt think they were important , ive been consistantly doing them for 4 weeks now , planning on switching the routine soon and never quitting , i mean ,  they gotta come in! ive i have always done them and they still havent come in then what u said would make sense to me

I just got back from the gym, and i tried this new workout for shoulders. It was actually pretty amazing. My shoulders have never been tired like this before:

http://danzbodybuilding.blogspot.com/2008/06/shoulders-and-traps-super-set.html

Do both of those supersets, id do the first one first cuz its quite more difficult. I also did a farmers walk. My shoulders are now soo tired. Im expecting them to be extremely sore tomorow:P.
