I joined this forum for some feed back and advice from the more experienced. I have been weight training and working out with a PT for the past 3 months now. I am seeing some fast results. I am in my 50s. However, I think I think I pulled a pec muscle on my left side? My PT says the routine he has me doing should not have caused a pull. It hurts when I take a deep breath, stretch my left arm out to the side, or bend over and straighten up.The pain is over my left breast and it is not constant. Whats weird is it doesn't hurt when I touch the area. Even though I don't want to I have taken a break. It even hurts if I do crunches. It has been hurting for two weeks now Any suggestions on how to speed recovery?

Does it worsen with activity? I mean is it more sore after you work out? I know it bothers you when you do.

I would have it checked by a doc if it has been bothering you for that long.

Two weeks is a long time especially if your PT doesn't think it was exercise related.

Yes it does worsen with activity. I figure it probably happened and is aggrevated by the fact that I am heavy chested. I also started running. I suspect I don't have the proper support(too much bounce). Also,my left is my weaker side. I will take your advice and see my doc. Thanks for responding.

see a dr!  this may only be doms, but still, see a dr and make sure to stretch well after weight exercises with lots of water.  glutamine may also help with recovery as will calcium/potassium/magnesium/zinc.

I'm just curious, what did the doc have to say?
