Welcome to DBB! First off, 12 pounds in 3 months is entirely doable. I don't see any reason why you can't accomplish that if you really hammer away at the calories and stick with a sensible workout plan. Don't throw in the towel just because things haven't worked out for you in the past -I did that a lot before I stopped kidding myself about what it really took to pack on mass. I'm just glad I never gave up completely. Your best bet is going to be to join a site like fitday.com, where you can build menus and calculate calories to support your bulking needs. Since you didn't provide a whole lot of information about your strength training experience, I can't comment on what kind of workout you should jump right in with, but I will say this: if you're not doing a lot of heavy, compound lifts, you're wasting your time. That means squats, bench presses, deadlifts, chinups, and LOTS of rowing movements. You can pretty much forget about curls and pec isolation exercises. They flatter your ego, but they don't stimulate the neurological shock your body needs to grow.

hey, welcome to DB.com... i've been a member for a couple months now and its always good to welcome new members... frist of all, 12 lbs is a very realistic goal in 3 months. if you try hard, i'm sure you can get close to 15-18lbs of lean mass in that time period. may i be a critic and provide constructive critisism? frist of all i think your diet is good... if you wanted to lose weight. i would have to say that the principles behind gaining or losing weight is simple. gain: take in more calories than you expend lose: expend more calories than you take in with that said... EAT EAT EAT.... with a decent workout plan you will be gaining lean muscle instead of fat. also may i suggest a weight gaining supplument.. i know of Serious Mass, tastes great and has about 3,400 calories in just one serving, take this before you go to bed and you will be packing on the lbs in no time.. but remember, taking your calorie shake before bed is key, this is the time of the day that your body burns off the least amount of calories, so therefore your not burning off what your taking in. good luck and i hope this helps you out! p.s. * remember, don't weigh yourself everyday, you'll get discouraged that way... set specific day of the week in the morning, NOT at night to weigh yourself, this is how you will get and see accurate results.
