Hello all.

I am an 18 year old male who used to be an offensive lineman for his highschool football team.  I was 6 foot 3, 300 pounds.  I was very fast for my size and lifted a lot of weight, however I did eventually realize after football was over how big and unhealthy I looked and was.  I decided I would go on a diet, and about 6 months later I am now down to 230 lbs.

I have been getting back into weightlifting a lot lately and though I don't want to be a professional bodybuilder, I would really enjoy getting bigger and being a part of the forums.

My main concern right now is that after a lot of weightloss my stomache and a little bit of my chest has some extra skin.  I would like to know if situps and getting bigger abs and chest might help in the stretching of the skin?

Thanks

Yes I do believe that would help, but it depends how much skin there is.

Doesn't working your abs make them bigger just like any other muscle?  So why couldnt i just really work on them to make them big enough to stretch the skin?  Sounds logical...

Ok ok ok...I guess I see your point.  I didnt actually mean abs as big as biceps or something.  But yeah thanx for your input.  I could imagine the ab work might a little though.  And maybe mixed with the cream it could do wonders...

I'm having the same problem as you, but it just takes time, i've noticed a considerable change over a 4 month period, so just wait for it.  Working the abs wont really help.  I have basically the same height/weight + weight change that you do.  Just keep at it, and let the skin tighten... one person told me that tanning will help tighten the skin, though i havent had time to do much tanning.  Good luck, and if you find anything that works well, please let me know.

Nick
