My secret to height was having a 6'4" dad and a 5'11" mom...

Have you seen the stories about these people getting the leg lengthening surgery? Psychotic.

Pills? Hormones can increase breast size (by increasing estrogen levels)... but that's a prescription thing of course... this thread is about supplements. There is not a single supplement out there that can do increase height, breasts, or penis size. If there were, wouldn't everyone be taking them?

And what "natural techniques" are you referring to? That I would like to know. Meditation? Hypnosis? They're all a bunch of scams.

Take it from me... if there was a supplement out there that increased a persons height... wouldn't I want to carry it?

Eating a lot of snickers bars will make a woman's breasts bigger. It'll make the rest of her bigger too, though. As we all know, that also works for men

But yeah, if it's on TV, it's a good chance it's bogus. I am hoping that this recent set of TV ads that look like prescription drugs, but aren't, might get people's dander up enough to give the FDA some authroity to regulate "supplement" marketing again. At least make tham prove stuff before they make claims, etc.

Kris I wouldn't say they're scams if you've never looked into them... It has been proven that some of the pills DO work to enlarge... u know... but Im not sure what the side effects were. Why isn't everyone taking them? Because everybody doesn't know about them and are afraid of the potential "risks" they could pose. And no those are not the type of techniques I was talking about...

Yea I do agree with you about no supplemenents for height though... But I have heard that drinking a lot of milk(obviously) and doing "bar hangs" can make you taller. Bar hangs are basically where you hang on a bar until your arms give out (or longer if you have wraps). The main idea behind this has something to do with there being air between each disc of the spine. During the day these air pockets are squeezed together and the spine is more compact. This is why you are taller in the morning than your are at night. This is also why it is true that marathon runners can lose 1-2 inches of height after a long run... I guess I would have to try the bar hangs for myself, but I have been on discussion boards where people say they've gained 3-5 inches by drinking a ton of milking and doing bar hangs everynight. Sounds impossible but I don't like to judge things till I've tried them myself...

Trust me... I've looked into them... I'm in this industry.

There are no supplements out there that enlarge anyone’s privates. If people say it works it's a placebo. People want to believe... and if you take something believing your you know what will grow bigger... you will think it actually did. But take out a tape measure... same results as before... nothing changed.

If you get HBO, try watching Pen and Tellers (sp?) show. They usually pick a topic and make fun of it. They've done similar shows about this topic doing their own studies and showing how people think it really works and are willing to spend $$$... but in actuality nothing actually changed.

Drinking milk as a youth can help strengthen your bones. I'm not sure how much that helps as an adult but I know it does much less. I have never heard of milk actually allowing someone to grow taller... and I know of no study being able to prove that. You are genetically determined how tall you can grow. The only thing you can do physically is stunt your growth (not grow as tall as you should have genetically).

Stretching or (hanging) until your arms give out will not make you taller. Height is determined by your bones... nothing else. There is nothing you can physically do to lengthen the size of your bones besides having a doctor cut you open and install a "bone spacer" or something. I wouldn't recommend that .

As far as different heights during the day, that's simple. When you wake up you are alert and your muscles allow you to stand more upright... but after a long day you are tired and you tend to slouch a bit more. Think about a person who doesn't workout. Now put him in the gym for a good month or two. Chances are he will have grown 1-2"... but he didn't... he just increased his posture and stood more upright. There's pockets of air in our spines... but that air isn't making us taller or making us smaller. When you crack your knuckles do your fingers grow an inch longer?

I can find a bunch of people out there that say they been abducted by aliens... or they had cancer and ate nothing but Snickers and the cancer disappeared... or, like we're talking about, have drank gallons of milk and increased their height. My point is, these peoples claims were not backed up with scientific proof. There's so much BS information out there you have to be careful. If you want to believe that doing these "hangs" or drinking lots of milk will increase your height... then that's your choice. Scientifically if there's no proof to back up these stories... then I'm not willing to waste time on money on them.

It has been proven that some of the pills DO work to enlarge... u know

??? If you mean Viagra, that's something else entirely. Viagra, Levitra, Cialis are all drugs that have been tested by the FDA and proven safe and effective at improving erectile function. I could name a lot of other things that do the same kind of "enlargement" that aren't pills. Heck, I can increase my "size" by like 150% in about two minutes, but I wouldn't call it a "miracle". There is no drug that causes permanent enlargement, only surgery and other physical means can do this.

Bar hangs might make your ARMS longer, but they don't expand your spine. Maybe if you hung upside down from your legs, but that's not going to produce any permanent change.

Don't belive everything you hear, most of it's bogus.

Well the comparisons of hanging from a bar to be taller cannot be translated to a pill or technique making it bigger. Unless you are talking about hanging a weight off it or physically stretching the member out in full force.

But pills? Nope. Viagra, NO2.. whatever for a temporary but not a solution.

Permanent changes would have to be physical implementations over a long period of time.

Theres nothing you can do to lengthen your bones? Wrong. Have you ever seen those women in India who wear rings around their necks, and they increase these rings as time goes on. Heres a pic.

Have you ever heard of something called Wolff's law? It basically states that "Every change in the form and the function of a bone, or in its function alone, is followed by certain definite changes in its internal architecture and secondary alterations in its external conformation." Or in other words "Remodeling of bone ... occurs in response to physical stresses - or to the lack of them - in that bone is deposited in sites subjected to stress and is resorbed from sites where there is little stress"

When you crack your knuckles do your fingers grow an inch longer

That is completely different. "What's really happening when you "crack" your knuckles is that you are either pushing the joint back into or out of its normal position. Joints are the meeting points of two separate bones which are held together by connecting tissues and ligaments. A thick, clear lubricant (made mostly of carbon dioxide and some nitrogen) called synovial fluid is found between the bones. When you stretch or pull your finger to get that desired popping noise, you are causing the bones to pull apart. Pressure is reduced on the synovial fluid and bubbles form that quickly expand and then burst - which is why you get that noise. "

Also, have you ever seen how much longer a kickboxer's legs are than a normal persons? This is because kickboxers constantly put stress on those bones.

While the supplements COULD be false, there ARE natural techniques that have proven to work. These are the same techniques that those old Indian (I don't exactly know what they were) type of people did who had thos really long... "equipment"

hanging a weight off it

While people have tried this, that type of technique will mosty likely make it deformed... But I have seen clips of 3 people who had ropes attached to their "stuff" and were pulling a bus using only them... Kinda gross... makes you wonder why they don't just rip right off... OUCH

Oh where to begin....

Wolff's law is just fine, but the changes it referrs to are not necessarially permanent. If you remove the stress, then bone is "re(ab)sorbed from sites where there is less stress", hence any temporary stress on your arms or spine won't matter because the stress on your legs when you're walking around is higher.

Have you ever seen those women in India who wear rings around their necks

The women of Thailand who wear the rings around their necks are putting pressure on their necks 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There's no comparison at all to hanging from a bar for a few minutes a day.

Also, have you ever seen how much longer a kickboxer's legs are than a normal persons? This is because kickboxers constantly put stress on those bones.

If kickboxers' legs are longer than average (which I seriously doubt), it's because people with long legs make better kickboxers, not because kickboxing makes their legs longer.

there ARE natural techniques that have proven to work. These are the same techniques that those old Indian (I don't exactly know what they were) type of people did who had thos really long... "equipment"

Yes, long term pumping or hanging a weight from your weiner will make a change, it's soft tissue after all. But that's not what you said originally, you said:

It has been proven that some of the pills DO work to enlarge... u know... but Im not sure what the side effects were.

Now, I do know of a guy who's been playing with vacuum pumps for 15 years. His "little friend" isn't little. In fact it's freakish.

Not true. They have proven with X-Rays that it actually bends their collar bones down, but their necks stay the same length...
