Heart Rate Monitors: Useful for cutting?
-

I can get a nice Polar heart rate monitor for free using points I've earned from donating platelets. Question is whether they are useful for a cutting bodybuilder doing HIIT (bike, crosstrainer probably, doubt the thing works in the pool). Is it a "toy" that will become a fancy watch, or will it be useful for cutting? If not, I can pick out something more useful with the points. Thanks!

I bought one and used it alot. Great for HIIT for obvious reasons. Also good to keep track of your RHR

I have one from 7 years ago, battery is dead but I only used it for one cut. Might be useful to use again, but after a while you just get to know your body and know exactly where you are at anyways.

Thanks guys! Battery on my watch went dead months ago and I'd like to have a watch anyway. So perhaps I'll take the plunge. Want to make sure it can handle HIIT interval training. They don't work in the pool, do they?

Unless you get a really expensive one , I doubt it.
