Head up! - Thursday, October 28, 2004 8:44 AM
I got an email today from the company that I order my supps from. In this email, MassNutrition said that they have...

"received a report from an independent lab regarding the protein powder made from the company IDS. It has come to our attention not only through the lab assay shown below but also from two other very reputable laboratories that IDS has been cheating us the consumer and putting way less protein than they claim on the label. The sample test of their Multi-Pro Whey Isolate reveals only 6 grams of protein per scoop where it it is supposed to have 23 grams. To make matters worse, the assay also shows the protein is loaded with sugar having over 8 grams of sugar while the label claims 1.5 grams. Not to mention that the sodium was way off and the protein that it did have in there was only whey protein concentrate and not isolate."

If you would like a forwarded copy of the report, I have one. Just email me and I'll send it to you. My email address is SINAC84@AOL.COM

6grams vs 23!!! I wonder how long they've been getting away with that? It's funny because whey used to be a by-product that dairy companies had to spend money to dispose of. Now companies are saving money by using fillers instead of the old waste product. What a strange and wonderful world we live in.

That's plain shady! Will the people who ordered it get some sort of refund or compensation of sorts?

Doubtfull. Large companies usually dont pull huge scams like that unless they have some way out afterwards. They could re-order tests from third party laboratories and procrastinate long enough to liquidate the corporation if they wanted. The consumer often gets screwed in these cases.

Nobody is getting a refund.

Gotta agree with Mike on this one.
