Halloween, who's going for it? - Wednesday, October 28, 2009 9:53 AM ( #1 )
Halloween my favorite holiday... Either I go all the way or I do nothing...

For years I would co host an very large elaborate Halloween party.. 5 of us would take the week off from work to stage and create a haunted house for our party (or whatever the theme was that year), we spent thousands of dollars over the years... (we were all in the arts or skilled trades, or for most of us both)... Due to a break up with in our (former) circle, this doesn't happen anymore..

Another Halloween was going to pass me by, no motivation nothing really good to do... I have been occupied with more important things, an I had no ideas I really liked enough to work for a month on a costume to go to one of the major balls with serious costume contests and prizes.

I got an invite, it's an apocalypse party!!!

Who you gonna be??? Anybody doing it up this year?

And I am gonna be her....The Hindu Goddess Kali... she's a freakin' bad ass diety!

I'm going to a place called "The Devil's Triangle" in North Carolina, supposedly no one has ever been able to spend the night there.

We're throwing my friend a Halloween bachelor party this Friday.  He's getting married on Halloween, and they urge us all to come in costume.  I'm gonna wear my old, beat up Judo gi and do myself up like a zombie.  I'll be a zombie Judo champion!

Me and my band have a gig on halloween.  We are all dressing up as the Jackson 5.

Which Jackson are you going to be, Bri?

Virt... funny guy... I will post a pic,  If it pulls off the way I have it in my head...

I hate (and I am sure 95% of you would disagree, for obvious reasons)... the dumb girl "fantasy" costumes.. naughty nurse... sexy kitten all that bull Shi*t... It's halloween damn it, it is supposed to be scary...

however, I do look like ass everyday, I dress contractor chic, day to day... I probably look less than 50% as good as I could on a daily basis. Add in going to kung fu 3-4 days a week ,weights 2-3 days a week... I am always a dirty smelly descheviled mess... with my hair in some sort of bound clump...

I set this years criteria, as I want to be scary, scary scary... bringer of the apocolypse, or survior of the same, figures in myth that fit the theme are hard to find for a women, (ones that don't look like me on a daily basis, if we are talking about surviving, kinda impossible, and I don't have that much leather... hahaha)... and I am no Tina Turner... (not to mention I anticipate Mad Max being done to death, along with the 4 horsemen, Gabrial, and any post apocoliptic survior, or Zombie apocolypse... Christrina eaters, and demons... ).

So when I remebered Shiva (her consort), dug a little further and was like **** goddamn I forgot all about Kali... she is perfect and HOT!!! And I can go backless... I swear if I had had more time, I would have done a mini Keto, just so I could be drier and "leaner". So yes Virt if this all pulls off, you should at least get some kinda shot of hardway, although I will be blue, or purple....

MVP, are you sure you want to do that... considering your lingering sleep issues...

Didn't they figure the Bermuda Triangle out... It is one of the place where the magnetic field of the earth is in flux (our poles WILL shift eventually... Magnetic North and Magnetic south), it's all wobbly... so compass measurements, are not going to happen...

No one in particular...they all dress the same and have a big a** afro.  So we're all just gonna get those kind of clothes and Afro wigs.  It should be funny!

Yeah, but I heard something different. I heard (and they proved) metating gas is leaking at the bottom of the ocean where the ships have sank. They have proven it can cause explosions and if it gets in the air it can shut certain air motors off and at the same time make the radars and gauges act up (as mentioned by previous experts). It was proven that it could be a reason, but there are other theories that support proven detail just as you mentioned.

Usually I can't be bothered.  Last year I thought I'd do something fun for the kids and go to work as Jack Skellington in Santa garb, but it was a little over their heads.  They thought I was a zombie panda Santa.  So this year I say f*ck it, I'll just throw some flashcards and word seaches at 'em, then go get drunk in my street clothes.

Oh, King Bill congrats on having fun friends... I been in 5 weddings, I have been involved in the staging and or execution of, damn it has to be over 100 weddings by now... the common thread that binds them... wedding are boring lame and generally suck... Kudo's for having friends who are trying to make it fun for all...

Snatchula 9 out of 10 of my Halloween costumes required explanation... Really the only one that didn't in the past 10 years, was when I was Lily Munster... Our Munster's party was hands down our best effort, sad it was our last one... Loved the cat calls from strangers going through the city Hey Lily!!! took me a month to make the costume, and about 4 hours to do my hair and make up...

funny, when I first started dateing my Bf, he was invite to a surprise birthday party, it was Munster's themed (weird guy), people were supposed to dress up... He was just going to go and make an appearance by himself for like an hour tops... I flipped (I had told him about my Lily costume prior to this)... "I DON"T CARE IF YOU NEVER SEE ME OR TALK TO ME AGAIN AFTER THIS BUT I HAVE A COSTUME THAT TOOK ME A MONTH TO SEW< AND ABOUT $100 DOLLLARS IN PROFESSIONAL THEATRICAL MAKE UP (and accessories) SITTING IN MY CLOSET. YOU ARE PICKING ME UP, AND TAKING ME TO THIS DAMN PARTY, I WILL BE READY IN 4 HOURS.... THERE IS NO WAY< AND I MEAN NO WAY, I AM GOING TO MISS THIS EXCUSSE TO BRING "LILIY" BACK!!!!!!". He conceeded,  there was another Lily there... I walked in, she took her wig off immediately, with in a half hour she was out of her dress. She came up to me and said... I am embarrassed I even tried... You are Lily Munster... rolf

I met the guy who played the kid on The Munsters.  He was my grandparents neighbor in Florida.  Butch something was his name.  Nice guy, but had an odd stutter.

Butch Patrick???? I think... He's one of those old child actors... you hear about or shows up in something once and a while... I kinda wince every time ... Every public shot I have seen of him ( we as a group did a lot of in depth research when we were planning the party... my friend troll was "eddie", made his little werewolf doll and everything), he was always in some awful little cape... even in appearances 7-8 years ago

Daddies... that's no excuse!

When I give out candy to the wee ones... if the parental escort is dressed up, they always get a treat from me as well, if they want one that is...

But, hey have fun with your kids! I hope you enjoy it... 2 and 5... much sooner than you think, they won't need and certainly won't want pop in tow, when they go out....

OI! terrible pictures... the one on the left is almost the correct color... getting the blue to photograph well, is about as difficult as getting ME to photograph well! But you get the idea... I really was a beautiful shade of blue....
