HRT works... - Saturday, April 12, 2008 8:33 PM ( #1 )
(Hey guys- this is Al, tawney's husband)

I recently had a great experience on HRT, and I wanted to let every guy out there who just woke up and realized that he's middle aged, losing his libito, can't concentrate like he used to, no energy, can't get it going in the gym, and looks in the mirror seeing a pale worn out less than acceptable version of themselves to go to their doctor and get yourself tested for low testosterone.  LOLOLOL- I sound like a damn commercial!!  But the truth is... At age 40 after a lifetime of booze, drugs and bad food there I was staring in the mirror at a mess. I mean a MESS. I went to rehab, got myself off the bottle, changed my diet, and joined the gym.

Still with me? Ok... so I started working out last year about a week after I got home (with my wife at my side every day), but for the most part (other than feeling a tiny bit less flabby 'n' gushy) the results honestly sucked. LOL  My younger, "better genetically gifted wife" was getting GREAT results, but for me... nada. I took a deep breath, accepted that I was 40 not 20, and I continued for almost a year working hard along with a pretty solid diet too. Still... nada. I was pretty bumed out, and to make things worse- now that I was sober all the time I realized that I had no sex drive. LOLOLOL I swear to God that when I was trashed all the time I never even noticed that problem. My wife is more than satisfied with a "couple times a month" which was the reason I never noticed that my libito had nose dived off a cliff over the last 10 years. Anyway, there I was with no hard on and no hard arms. I went to my family doctor who after hearing all my symptoms immediately tested my testosterone, and suggested that I get on HRT therapy after the bloodwork came back very bad. Less than 1% free test in my blood and the 300's for total test. The doctor claims that my bad lifestyle didn't ruin my once healthy body, but I don't think that's true. Anyway I plan on spending the next 10 years fixing it...

So I started HRT... and in only 2 months on the exact same diet and exercise program as I was ALREADY doing for a year, EVEYTHING changed. My libito shot up through the roof, my mood was better, my memory sharpened A LOT, my cardio health improved, and my body hardened right up and grew, big time. I felt and looked 18 again. I was very shocked. I had NO IDEA how important a role that hormones play in libito and body shape- and least of all the skin. lol my skin really improved! (I sound like a chick) lol

Here are some 'after' pics- and 1 'before' pic that I took a couple of weeks before I started the HRT program. I think it's obvious that the HRT works, LOL Even my skin improved-a LOT. I am definitely a believer now. and this summer I can take off my shirt at the pool and not be ashamed. I can also take off my pants and not be ashamed (If you know what I mean) LOL

Thanks for listening, I was dying to tell some people!

Al

My doctor started me on testosterone 3 weeks ago. A little change but he said it takes 6-8 weeks before I will notice a difference.
This is my first post. I am 58 years old and started lifting weights along with heavy bicycle riding at 23.
The past 7-8 years have been a downslope for me. A lateral fusion, hernia surgery and a catheter ablation [atrial fibrulation] took its toll.
I am back in the saddle and am making progress.
The attached picture was taken last July ['08]. There is still a ways to go but with the hormonr replacement therapy, I should see some gains.
I have NEVER taken an anabolic steroid my entire life and don't plan on it.
