HIIT? - Friday, March 21, 2008 4:29 PM ( #1 )
so ive read an article about it , really wanna do it so i can get some more definition , maybe even more endurence when i lift but my main goal is size gain , ive gained nearly 40 pounds in the year that ive started and being that im self trained thru internet and stuff and still learning im proud of it , just not the amount of fat , i am alternating my diet but its hard. ill suck it up and get it done anyway HIIT ,.... read in the article that it burns fat 9 times faster then traditional cardio
also boost metabolism and growth hormone levels
and says even if fat loss isnt the goal its good for u

"Even if weight loss is not your goal, HIIT is for you. Athletes will see better gains from doing HIIT cardio as opposed to traditional cardio."

i  currently weigh about 175 and am 5'11- 6feet , i started out about 135lbs  last april.
anyway i have a higher body fat but im not fat i mean i take of my shirt u can see the muscle gaining but with a layer of fat on me... so i dunno what the body fat percentage is but i read someones post saying u need atleast 9% to see definition , so i cant be too far from that. anyway ,  i weighed about 6 pounds more 3 weeks ago , i lost it from not keepin up with my calories and added stress.

so i wanna be like 190 after cutting .... this article says i can do HIIT and cut fat while gaining muscle , but im not sure , should i start this program now or wait until i reach like 200lbs first?

We can't really tell you what your body will or will not do. My two pence: if you're fairly fit and have no underlying medical problems, try it. If you don't see results after a sensible period (say three weeks) look at your diet. I can tell you it's a really good workout for your heart, but as to its effects on muscle loss...only you will be able to tell if it affects you. Good luck!
