HELP - does elbow pain = tendonitis...??!!
I am relatively new to lifting, but have been going pretty seriously for almost 8 weeks now.
my routine is sound and I do major muscle groups once per week in a 4 day split.
over the past week or so I have been noticing some dull pain on my right elbow. (the outer part of my elbow related to tricepts as oposed to inner like bicept/forearm)
the pain more like slight iritation and is most noticable all the time in regular life as opposed to in the gym - like there are no stabing pains or anything when lifting.
At home or at night when I am noticing the dull pain, if I try and bend my arm fully like completely contract my bicept and stretch out the tricept I can feel that my right elbow is defienetly somewnat sore compared to my left one.
I am wondering - is this possibly early stage tendonitis?
If it is - what do I do? I had planed to take my week off soon since I am nearing 8 weeks of straight training, but is that even enough to recover from a joint/tendon problem?
If I have to "lay off", how long is suggested?
Do I need to stop ALL weight training as any stress on the arm will inflame the problem, or can I continue unrelated things like back bicepts/fore arms and legs??
this problem will affect my ability to do chest, shoulders and obviously tricept isolation work...
I am really bummed out.
I have added "glucosamine sulfate" tablets to my supplimetns, and am seriously thinking of taking 2-3 weeks off from ALL lifting.
but I am very discouraged about that idea.
my main concern is to stop this from getting worse, but I still want to be able to stay on track - for the first time I am commited to a good diet and good routine, and I am seeing gains...
what a pain in the ass to be stopped by an injury.
any and all suggestions are welcome...
