Growth Hormones - Thursday, March 18, 2004 7:55 PM
I was wondering does the natural growth hormones play a vital role in leg development? I'm wondering on getting my calves bigger and I was wondering if that is something I should be thinking about.

I'm not an expert in this area but as far as I know, "Growth Hormone" is typically given to someone with a medical condition involving problems with the pituatary gland not secreting enough of it. Unless your doctor diagnosis you with this problem, I don't see any smart reason for taking it. It is involved in muscle & bone development, but unless you have a condition, your body should have enough of it anyways.

Pro-hormones, on the other hand, which are preferred by some bodybuilders will increase your testosterone levels leading to better gains, however, it's not going to target your legs specifically.

If your looking to build up your legs, develop a good diet and a good training program, making sure you have some good calf mass building exercises. Calfs, at least for me are an extremely tough muscle to build. I've heard alot of it is genetics, but if you work hard, I'm sure you can put on some size. I should take my own advice in this area cause I've always been frustrated with calfs and mine are small.

Natural growth hormones play a role in pretty much all the body's development, especially the bones before puberty.

However, taking hGH isn't going to make your skinny calves magically grow. You're much better off looking at your training program and doing more calf work.

I take growth hormone medically and it is for growth of the bones not muscles. It makes you taller. If you have already stoped growing it will be not any use to anyone unless you need it medically like myself but if you want some I can sell you some humatrope lol. For an entire year supply I pay $106,000 so it can get expensive. Thank god for insurrance. And also no im not gonna sell any haha
