I am a 17 year old and would I like to know if is it true that doing weights will stop me from growing taller.
Does Pure Whey help to grow taller?
And is there some specific type of weights I should do to increase my height?

Well, joey is mostly right--and I think in your case, totally right.  If you do weights too heavy too young you can damage your growth plates which might have an effect on your height.

Don't sweat the height thing.  If you're short, use those leverages to your advantage in the weight room.  And I know for a fact that lots of women (or men, whatever your preference) like the cute, short guys.Smile

I'm sorry, on what evidence do you base this statement?

If you damage your growth plates when you're young, you will risk damaging your growth.  Simple physics.

However, unless warsal is a late-maturer, it seems likely that he is well past any danger time.

..no it wasnt, G's just trying to put a point across which is pure common sence.

weston: ur friends may not have been lifting heavy enough to cause damage, or maybe they were, but lucky enough that they didnt damage they're growth plates. simple. dont say theorys are bs when you cant prove they are.

there is no excercise that will make you taller, the only thing that will make you get taller are your genes, and you cant change them.

it makes some ppl taller, i guess its according to your genes.  look at the NFL athletes, NBA athletes, MLB athletes, NHL athletes...all of them are tall for the mostpart, atleast 5'10 - 6'5.  but i believe it stopped my growth, i started lifting weights my freshman year, at first i was tall and slinder and every since then im short and stout as a bulldog.  not shorter or anything i dont believe but im certainly not a cenimeter taller.

** Correction ** They are in those leagues "because" they are tall(among other things), not that lifting weights made them that way.

It's been proven time and time again that many gymnasts stunt their growth because of their routine early in life. Science has also proven that growth plates, when not fully mature, and under pressure, can recede/stop moving.
