Great weight loss in 6 weeks
-
Sunday, February 12, 2006 3:28 AM
I have meet my weight loss goal in 6 weeks at the same time adding some muscle. By going from 206lbs to 189lbs. Seeing a major change it has really motivated me to try to bulk up on the upper body. I am aware that most of that weight was probably water as I was enjoying the beer on a regular basis. I don't count calories but do eat 5-6 times a day small portions usually consisting of a sandwich or bowl of soup. I use creatine and protein powder. The creatine use is 8grams half hr. before and after workout and 8grams on off days. I have only been working out 3 days a week. Treadmill 40min. canyon run, walk/run type Bench press 4 sets of 15 reps butterflys 4 sets of 10 behind head pull downs 4 sets of 30 pull down arms extended out front 4 sets of 15 dumbcurls 4 sets of 15 Going from set to set with less than 1 min. of rest I feel like I have hit a plateau on the building of muscle and want to concentrate on that mostly now. I have been reading articles in magazines and there is so much info. it's difficult to pick thru it all. So I'm needing some help, pointed in the correct direction to to continue on without wasting valuable time and energy. Currently: 45 yrs old Neck 15 1/4" Chest 40 3/4 Waist 34 3/4 Biceps 13 1/2 Short term goal is to make it to 43" chest and 15" biceps.

Did the creatine help you lose weight, or did you keep some water weight? I myself went from 235 to 186, and am looking for ways to lose some more body fat to become cut and I am possibly looking at creatine to help build muscle and lose fat, what were its effects on your weight loss, muscle building and over-all fitness goals? thanks and keep up the good work.......

I don't think the creatine helped in the weight loss area. If I understand correctly it makes your muscle retain water. I am doing a pretty good cardio and diet for the weight loss part. I think the creatine has helped in the building of muscle and energy during workout. Since I have been taking it I do not get sore between workouts. I am about to complete my first 8 week cycle with the creatine and should be able to better recognize it's benefits. I read that it is difficult to lose weight while putting on muscle. From what I have read some posts have suggested to do one or the other at a time not both. Sounds like you are doing great. Thanks for the post I was beginning to wonder if I was not getting any responses to my posts because of my age (old guy) or if I was not posting properly.

Hey if you hit a plateau and your interested in reading a good book that could help you I recommend checking out The new High Intensity Training by Ellingto Darden. Im going to be forty in a couple of months, I started seriously doing the workout outlined in his book and Im seeing real good results. If your interested I could post basically what he recommends but the book is a good read also touchs on diet explains a little more about creatine. Good luck
