I saw my uncle this weekend and taunted me. He basically said i had a good physique but it was useless if i had no strength ( he was talking about my grip). He basically wants me to be able to hurt his hand on a handshake in about 3 months lol... Any ideas on how to increase grip strength? other than captains of crush. P.S: I was wondering, does ''grip'' have to do with forearms, or is it unknown hand muscles? thx

Because, forearms are the muscle which give you grip. Therefore if your holding heavy ass weight, their stimulated. Then just go too that erxx.net or what ever it is and look at forearm exercises... Hammers help to..

When you do pullups or some other exercise thats not too heavy, don't wrap your thumb around the bar. Use your discretion though, it could technically be dangerous. But you'll definitely get a good burn on the forearms without that added help of your thumb. Plus with something like pullups you don't really notice because you're so focused on your back and bis. But you notice afterwards*

Yea but to increase ''hand power'' is it forearms i'm aiming?

Ive heard open fingered push ups, definatley farmer walks and the sledge hammer where you walk your fingers down it. Also heavy gripers that are adjustable

All the basic compound moves at heavy weights build your strength. Any one of them that involves holding heavy weights in your hands works your grip. Deadlifts and farmer's walks are probably the best grip-strengtheners because these are the ones that allow you to hold the heaviest weights.

agreed. i got a compliment from a MARRIED WOMAN who said "goooooosh, even your forearms are huge!" deadlifts... holding onto large amounts of weight for extended periods of time will get your forearms bigger which = stronger grip

Ok. Is it ok if i dont bump my weights on the ground when doing deadlifts? basically, starting to lift from like 5cm from the ground? i'm pretty tall and theres no mats on my floor so i'd bump on wooden floor. Also is mixing the grip going to make a bicep grow bigger than another after a while, on deadlifts? cause i heard deadlifts hits bicep, so will it make a difference how the grip is? And also, i'm looking foward to adding a hang clean press, hang clean jerk or something like this, is it safe to do at home?

For a proper deadlift you are supposed to de-load the weight, so not bounce, but place it on the ground between each rep. Get a cheap carpet to put down, if you are worried about scaring the floor.
