Don't liten to that. Multivitamins are beneficial to people of all ages. Its nearly impossible to eat all the vitamins that a good multi provides, and its especially important to take them at your age, because you might still be growing some.

I'm pretty sure "Dude" is right. At his age, that is the most important time to take vit's since he is growing. Teenagers don't have the best track record for healthy diet either so...wouldn't the MV be GREAT? Animal Pak is $$$ I heard that "Source of Life" is very good, for the price too. Check them out and compare what they have...ask the person at the store.

One thing to consider is that many of the more expensive multis compete on the amount of nutrients. There are some new types of vitamins emerging in the market that use whole-food sources. Basically, instead of synthesizing vitamins chemically in a lab, they actually derive the vitamins and minerals from vegetables and fruits. By doing this you also get all of the natural phytochemicals that accompany the vitamins and minerals in nature. This is important to athletes (or anyone) because you get all of the cellular regenerative properties of the entire plant. I use a brand called First Organics. Its not easy to find but I'm sure they have a website where you can buy it.

However, the one you've mentioned (First Organics) has a very small dose of each vitamin!... http://www.firstorganics.net/nutritioninfo.asp

But one of the ideas that this company preaches (which I believe) is that high doses of pharmaceutically produced vitamins are not healthy and that you don't really need the super high doses anyway if the vitmamins come from the entire plant. I'm not completely sold but it peaked my interest enough to try to learn more about it. Problem is, there are only a small handful of companies willing to try to produce vitamins this way. The rest of the industry and "big pharma" are really trying to squash this because it seriously increases the amount of work while potentially reducing profits.

I would personally recommend GNC's Mega Man Sport. I like it a lot since it not only has essential vitamins and minerals but it also contains some amino acids which will help you in your protein intake for the day. One thing about it though is that it makes your urine come out very flourescent.

im seeing it doesnt have iron, but if that doesnt bother you its a good start. also, when looking at multi-vitamins and other pills don't be so fast to judge price, first look to see how many pills it has in it. i personally like the multi-vitamin from AST, it a little more potent.
