Good bench?

My weight fluctuates between 175-180. I usually bench with 190 when I am doing a Max - Ot routine. I never really try to see what my 1 rep max is because I workout in my basement, alone with no spotter. But, I was doing some cardio yesterday and decided after my session to give a 1 rep max a shot. I got up 225. I was pleased but felt I could do a little better. So, this morning I did it again after a cardio session and got up 230 one time. Honestly, that is the most I have ever done, so I am fairly happy with that. But, this got me to wonder, "what is a good difference between body weight and what you can bench?" The difference between my bodyweight and my 1 rep max is 50-55 lbs. Is this pretty good you guys think? I don't know, never really saw any comments on that.

So, for me that would be closer to 270 - I better get to working my pecs! I was just thinking too that it probably depends on what you are going for in your exercising, if it is for power and strength or for a good physique. I tend to lean toward general health and a good physique. But, it will be interesting to see what all you guys think.

yeah 1.5 times bw is pretty decent, personally I want to get 2 times body weight, which I consider pretty elite.

Agreed with the others. Make your goal 1.5 X's your body-weight, if you can surpass that you can consider yourself pretty strong.
