Glucosamine and Chondroitin
-
Thursday, April 01, 2004 5:55 AM
Does anyone take this? My knees are taking a beating, and seem to recover between workouts, but just barely. I am hesitant to spend the money on something else unless I know it will help. If you take it, do you take it all the time, or in cycles? How much do you take? (Since sometimes with supps the dosage on the bottles are not always the most effective doses.) Any side effects? Currently I just take a multi, calcium/magnesium supp and fish oil.

Yes, I take it with fish oil and multi's. Works like a damn on my wrists and knees. I just take it one-a-day like multi's.

I haven't taken it, but the guys in the white lab coats (not the ones at the Clinique counter) say it works!

I do take it. 1-2 pills a day. I most certainly notice the differences when I quit taking it for a couple of weeks. There's a lot of good research behind this particular supplement. And I've always felt that my joints are in better condition because of good form, a knowledgeable spotter and this glucosamine supplement.

Yeah but no... They say you should be taking a regular dose 3 times per day. I say if you're taking it at all you're one step ahead of where you were before. Remember, these products are designed to repair joints destroyed by arthritis. We're all taking it as a precautionairy measure. 3 times a day, excellent... 2 times, great... 1 time, fine for us. IMO
